BOOK CLUB ONE: January’s book selection is Then We Took Berlin, by JohnLawton. The New York Times Book Review describes the novel as a stylish spythriller told in the midst of harrowing descriptions of life in the battered nationsof Europe in 1945 and the war that never seemed to end. EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM: Have you ever wondered what happens whenpriests and ministers operate outside a church setting? Rev. Kirk LaFon, theUniversity Chaplain, will talk to us about his role as a chaplain at Ole Miss. Hehas served as a school chaplain from Pre-K all the way up to the college level.In fact, he became a priest so that he could serve in academic settings. Rev.LaFon will discuss what ordained ministry looks like in non-parochial, academicsettings.
