The LDVFRS held its Annual General Meeting on April 24, 2019. Our new executive is: Chair – Tyler
Penner, Fire Chief – Denis Deschenes, First Responder Captain – Mike Eby, Treasurer – Elizabeth
Wegner, Secretary – Carole Whitmer, Directors – Eric Canuel, Kiersten Mills-Eby, Dan Morgan, Deanna
Nickerson, and Bill Whitmer. A big Thanks to our outgoing Chair – Chris Laverentz and welcome to our
new Executive.
Two of our fire crew participated in the Lake Country Fire Fighting training weekend on May 24 – 26. It
was a very worthwhile weekend full of knowledge and comradery.
Fire season is upon us. If you would like a Fire Smart evaluation and action plan for your home and
surrounding area, please call Tyler at 790-2011.
As always, Thanks for your support with your bottles and cans! We have our new bins located
downtown and at the Firehall. Thanks again to West Fraser for donating the plywood!
The LDVFRS appreciates the community support for our concession and the 50/50 draw on the May Day
Fishing Derby weekend. A huge Thanks to the winner for donating his share back to the LDVFRS!
