The Landfall: SEP / OCT 2009SEP / OCT 2009SEP / OCT 2009SEP / OCT 2009
Hello everyone and welcome to our “almost fall” edition of The Landfall. We just re-cently returned from a trip to
Baltimore to attend Tom’s parents’ 50th Anniversary party. It was a surprise and yes, they really were surprised. Joshua is spending a couple of weeks visiting his grand-parents and he was even surprised to see us. Seeing all the people who attended their party made me think of all the people we come in contact with in our
lifetime and how many of those people stay connected with us. We have our families, but how many people that we meet along the way stay a part of our lives for years to come? We meet people through various activities and or-ganizations and some become friends, while others stay a part of our lives for many years. Being a part of the United States Power Squadrons® is a good way to make those kinds of friends who are a part of our lives for many years
to come.
I think a good way to celebrate the end of summer and the start of fall with our family and friends is to have a picnic. We will be having a Commander’s Picnic on Sunday, September 20, 2009 from 2 pm – 6
pm at Sleepy Hole ParkSleepy Hole ParkSleepy Hole ParkSleepy Hole Park. The park is located atttt
4700 Sleepy Hole Road 4700 Sleepy Hole Road 4700 Sleepy Hole Road 4700 Sleepy Hole Road in Suffolk, VA. A map and directions from the squadron building to the park are shown on page 3. The park offers a variety of natural
