Styles of Leadership

There are 4 styles of leadership:

•Autocratic

•Democratic

•Collective

•Laissez-faire

Autocratic style - in simple words it is when leader tells others what to do and they should do it.

Positive sides:

•People are in total control

•They know exactly what they should do

•Just one person makes decisions

Negative sides:

•Just one person makes decisions

•People can’t complain about anything if they don’t like it

•People are very restricted

Examples of autocratic leaders:

•Adolf Hitler

•Joseph Stalin

•Saddam Hussein

Democratic style- in simple words it’s when leader listens to others, think about it, but the main decision is up to the leader.

Positive sides:

•People can present their points of view

•Leader can still control people

•Leader have more respect from people

•People are more satisfied because they can present their thoughts

Negative sides:

•Making decisions can take to much time

•Some people won’t be satisfied with the decision

Examples of democratic leaders:

•Tony Blair

• Geogrge Bush

• Nikolya Sarcozy

Collective style

Collective style- it is when decisions are proposed from everyone and they will argue until everyone will agree with one decision.

Positive sides

•Everyone will end-up with one decision

•Everyone will be pleased with the decision

Negative sides

•Takes to much time

•Includes a lot of arguing

Examples of Collective style

•Kibbutz

•Hippie

Laissez-Faire style

Laissez-faire style- when no one control the situation.

Positive sides

•People can be creative as much as they want

•No control

Negative sides

• No control

•Less productive

Examples of Laissez-faire style

•Designers

•Artists
