PAMELA KAY NEAC, RBA,RWS, ARWS is a versatile artistand wonderful teacher, whose workcan regularly be seen in the RoyalAcademy, Mall Galleries andBankside in London. She writesregularly for Leisure Painter andhas written two books: Gouache: A Personal View and The Art ofPamela Kay as well as a DVDcalled Aspects of Flower Painting inOils. Pamela draws inspiration fromthe Dutch, French and Spanish masters of the 17th and 18thcenturies, and her work ranges from still life, flowers, interiorsand gardens to watercolours done on her travels abroad.

You will be painting with Pamela Kay every day. She will provide some individual guidance as well as group demonstrations. She planson doing some still life and interiorpainting, and to capture the beautyof humble everyday objects and theirunassuming nature. This holiday is most suitable for confidentbeginners and intermediate studentswho will benefit from being in a supportive group environment and working alongside Pamela.Students may choose to work in any medium. Pamela will be working in watercolour and gouache.

Cézanne was born and livedin Aix en Provence andvisits will be made to his

family home, Jas de Bouffan, anearly 19th century Provençalmansion with a grand avenue ofplane trees and set in peacefulgrounds, to his studio and to theMusée Granet to see some of hisdrawings and watercolours. Aix isan elegant city with manysplendid fountains, wide avenuesand fine palaces. The hotel is afew minutes stroll from thefamous Cours Mirabeau, theQuartier Mazarin, Musée Granet,Place de Verdun, Place des

Précheurs and Saint-SauveurCathedral, where you will findmuch to inspire you. Visits willalso be made to variouslocations where Cézannepainted le Chateau Noir andLa Montagne Sainte-Victoire. The Luberon is a quiet ruralhaven of mellow-stoned hillvillages, olive groves, cherryorchards and vineyards, lessthan an hour away from Aix.The charming village ofLourmarin has a weeklymarché paysan and the hotel,a former mill, overlooks thechateau and village green.
