HISTORY OF LEVIS

Levi and Jacob were the inventors of levis. Jacob was the tailor who in the early 1870s first fashioned heavy cotton cloth, thread and metal rivets into sturdy "waist overalls" for miners seeking durable work pants. Levi in turn met Jacob's needs for patenting and mass production of the product, enthusiastically embracing the idea and bringing it to life. The two created what would become the most popular clothing in the world — BLUE JEANS

1853 LeviStrauss was founded in 1853. It is one of the world’s largest brand-

name apparel marketers with sales throughout the world.

•1995 : Oct 18 - First dark indigo – dyed color to rough – textured fabric jeans was introduced.•1996 : May 5 - The first phase of the campaign begins with billboards and other outdoor advertisements that center on Levi's signature . Through this Levi Strauss is trying to regain market share.

•2001 : May 16 - The jeans technically which were work pants with a large pocket down one leg that was probably used to carry tools. They cost $1.75 at that time.•2002 : Oct 31 - Levi's signature set for

Wal-Mart Racks. •2004 : Jan 15 - Levi's signature hits the target. The mass priced Levi Strauss signature line filled into target stores’ 1227 units, marketing the brand’s second full rollout across a major US discounter.•2008 : Levi's is now one of the most popular brand.
