Sandra Smith Meet Sandra! Sandra is a licensed social worker who has received her master’s degree in social work from Catholic University. Sandra worked and taught at several health facilities and universities in the Washington D.C. area and even had her own private practice for ten years. After retiring in 2003, Sandra volunteered at Chesapeake

Hospice, the Department of Aging, and the Providence Center for Developmentally Disabled Adults. In 2008, Sandra made the move down to Naples to be a part-time resident and has been volunteering with us ever since. Sandra has been our cooking class instructor for nine years. She focuses on health, nutrition, group skills, and personal safety during each lesson.

Douglas HamiltonMeet Douglas! He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and now lives in Naples, Florida. His favorite thing about living here is going to the movies on the lawn at Mercato and laying out on the beach. Douglas has two brothers, Danny and David, who he attends various wrestling events with. Doug doesn’t have any pets. His favorite place to go on vacation is Disney World! Douglas has been a member of STARability for about 20 years now. His favorite activities are the bowling league and attending the monthly social events. STARability has helped Douglas make and maintain friendships. One thing that Douglas looks forward to the most is attending FGCU’s Spring Fling. Douglas enjoys photography and participating in our photography workshops. His favorite meal is a huge salad with everything on it with a water to drink. Douglas’s favorite color is blue, and he loves country music. One thing that Douglas would like to learn how to do is dance. Douglas never misses a wrestling match on TV. Douglas’s favorite thing to do is laugh—and it’s impossible not to laugh while around him.
