overall economy- Make it easier for more people to move into employment- Put downward pressure on the cost of living so that household bills

are as low as possible- Ensure that the wages of the majority of those in work rise in line

with overall growth in the economy- Ensure that the right level of welfare benefits goes to people who

genuinely need help- Increase the amount of affordable housing in Britain- Deliver a system of affordable and high-quality childcare that

supports working parents- Ease the pressure on households by reducing taxes
