The first step is to charge the battery. It is recommended to charge the battery for 6 hours on initial charge for optimum battery performance and life expectancy. Subsequent charge times should average 2.5 hours. You can use the VX 680 while the battery is being charged, however it will not be portable due to the physical electrical connection.
The battery is located on the back of the VX 680 and is installed by aligning the 2 plastic tabs and then pushing down on the very bottom of the battery until you hear a click.
Removal of the battery requires the tab indicated below to be pushed in while lifting up on the battery itself.

Determining the 3G Signal Strength
3G signal strength is determined by the coverage each specific 3G carrier provides in any given location. Unfortu-nately all carriers suffer from areas of poor signal strength with some of the causes being:
Distance from cellular (3G) tower
Geographical obstacles (hills/valleys)
Environmental obstacles such as concrete walls, build-ings, basements, elevator and other devices that use the same frequency.
