rights movement, which was the political

struggle of Black america to gain the same

rights in society as those of white US

citizens.

year until Dec 21 1956.

Assassinated Martin Luther King Jr. is shot when standing on a balcony outside

his hotel room, April 4 1968. He was only 39 years old.
