Gujarat is one of the fastest growing, dynamic & progressive regions in the world in terms of overall economic development. It has maintained remarkable development growth rate even in the times of global economic slowdown. It has become possible as a result of wide industrial base comprising of large, medium and small scale units dynamically engaged in manufacturing and servicing activities which are spread across Gujarat.
Inspired by the idea of Make in India, CII Gujarat State has imbibed the idea of ‘Make in Gujarat’ the year 2015-16 progressively boosting the manufacturing sector in the state. There are abundant opportunities in international trade through the constructive global outreach initiated by our Hon’ble Prime Minister. Creation of infrastructure and increase in trade go hand in hand. The expected growth in merchandise trade seeks strong multi- modal transport infrastructure support.
It is felt that there is a strong need of Management Professionals in Ports and Logistics & Shipping Sectors wherein management professionals can take advantage.
I congratulate B.K. School of Management, Gujarat University for successfully completing 09 years of MBA Maritime management course and entering into 10th year of this course.
Do accept our best wishes to the passing batch for the year 2014 – 16
With best wishesDevanshu GandhiChairman, CII Gujarat State Council &Managing Director,Vadilal Industries Ltd.
Gujarat, blessed with a 1600 Km long coastline, has always been the frontrunner in the holistic development of the ports and maritime sector in India. It is a matter of great pride that Gujarat is a torchbearer in ‘Port-led development’, and is ready to race towards the next phase of maritime growth. Today, under the visionary leadership and guidance of our Hon’ble Chief Minister, Gujarat is also laying strong emphasis on achieving laurels in the fields of education and skill development.
A key aspect of Gujarat’s port-led development has been a continued focus on the development of ports and maritime technology, infrastructure as well as allied growth including skill development and employment generation initiatives. It is hence my great pleasure to note that B.K. School of Management’s Post Graduate Programme in Port Management is now ready to dedicate its 9th batch of students to the maritime industry. The industry truly needs skilled professionals to achieve the next level of growth, and I hope these students contribute gainfully to this cause through their knowledge and experience. Going forward, strong management and project execution skills would be crucial to achieve lofty development targets in the industry.
I would like to highlight that Gujarat Maritime Board has constantly supported B.K. School of Management’s initiatives in driving this course and I am pleased to note the progress achieved in the last nine years. Hearty congratulations to the entire team at B.K. School of Management on its academic success. On behalf of Gujarat Maritime Board, I wish the institute all the very best in its endeavors going forward.

After thirty eight glorious years of enjoying the faith of the corporate world in our students as well as faculties, expressed through successful final placements and summer internships, B. K. School of Business Management looks forward to continue the trend in its thirty ninth year. Every year reputed corporates are invited to the campus for summer and final placements.
The placement brochure containing the detailed description of the college, the MBA Maritime Management programme, and its students act as the recruiters’ guide.
Placement Procedure
Pre-Placement TalksWe welcome the companies to conduct their pre-placement talk from the first week of October. This would provide the students with an opportunity to better appreciate the companies’ future plans, growth prospects, job opportunities, and job profiles. On the other hand, it will help the company make its presence felt on the campus and attract fresh managerial talent.
Placement ProceedingsCompanies are invited to schedule their presentation starting from the first week of October, 2015. Companies may also send promotional information prior to the presentation.
The interested companies may communicate in writing or send an e-mail along with details like preferred dates, modalities in placement procedure, job profiles, etc.
The placement team would then co-ordinate with the company and finalize placement schedules at mutually convenient dates. After the presentation, resume of the interested students are sent to the company.
Final Semester as per Placement TrainingEach student selected through this placement process will be required to complete one semester as pre-employment training. The training culminates in the submission of a detailed project report of the training and a presentation of the same for evaluation process.
Only those students, who have successfully completed the training and have been evaluated, will be granted the Degree Certificate and will take up the regular employment as per mutual commitment.Company’s Visit
