(A) Policy Statement

It is the policy of the MRI Department to provide sedation for patients requiring such to tolerate theexam.

(B) Purpose of Policy

To perform ordered procedures in a manner that causes the least amount of anxiety for the patient, andprovides the staff the most cooperation from the patient in order to obtain the best images possible.

(C) Procedure

Patients requiring sedation will be monitored according to the Conscious Sedation Policy titledSedation/Analgesia by Non-Anesthesiologists #3364-100-53-11.
