Response to the following: Pray for us.
Heart of Mary
Heart of Mary, after God's own Heart
Heart of Mary, in union with the Heart of
Jesus
Heart of Mary, the vessel of the Holy Spirit
Heart of Mary, shrine of the Trinity
Heart of Mary, home of the Word
Heart of Mary, immaculate in your creation
Heart of Mary, flooded with grace
Heart of Mary, blessed of all hearts
Heart of Mary, Throne of glory
Heart of Mary, Abyss of humbleness,
Heart of Mary, Victim of love
Heart of Mary, nailed to the cross
Heart of Mary, comfort of the sad
Heart of Mary, refuge of the sinner
Heart of Mary, hope of the dying
Heart of Mary, seat of mercy
Lamb of God, who take away the sins of
the world,
Spare us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, who take away the sins of
the world,
Graciously hear us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, who take away the sins of
the world,
Have mercy on us.
Christ, hear us.
Christ, graciously hear us.
Lord, have mercy.
Christ, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.
L: Immaculate Mary, meek and
humble of heart.
A: Conform our hearts to the heart
of Jesus.
Let us pray:
O most merciful God, who for the
salvation of sinners and the refuge
of the wretched, has made the Immacu-
late Heart of Mary most like in tenderness
and pity to the Heart of Jesus, grant that
we, who now commemorate her most
sweet and loving heart, may by her merits
and intercession, ever live in the fellow-
ship of the hearts of both Mother and
Son, through the same Christ our Lord.
Amen.

cent de Paul Society.
Charitable Gift Annuities give you additional income: If you
are over 65 and have $10,000 or more to invest, possibly from a CD
that is coming due, you may want a Charitable Gift Annuity which
will give you higher rates than a CD. This will give you a large tax
deduction and provide you with quarterly fixed payments for the
rest of your life. Here are some sample rates based on your age:
Age 65 – 4.7%; Age 70 – 5.1%; Age 75 – 5.8%; Age 80 – 6.8%;
Age 85 7.8%; Age 90 and older 9%. Upon your passing, the re-
mainder of the Gift Annuity can go to your parish endowment fund
and other charities. Please contact Juliet Greco at The Catholic
Foundation of North Georgia: jgreco@cfnga.org or 404-497-9440.
She’s a 44 year old US Army Veteran suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
after 2 years in the Iraq war zone. She was discharged after 20 years’ service and
receives a small military pension. She is receiving ongoing PTSD treatment at the
Atlanta VA Hospital as well.
She is a single mother of one son, aged 13, and lives in Decatur.
Her dream is to become a Chaplain, and she is enrolled at Emory Theological School
with plans to graduate next year.
But, things happened in her life to cause her to get behind in her rent. She had an un-
planned expensive car repair, and shortly thereafter she had a family emergency out
of state that caused some travel expense. As in many cases, there isn’t any room in
the tight budgets for emergencies like these.
Our St. Vincent de Paul case workers visited with her in her home to gather all the
details. They spoke to the landlord about helping her avoid eviction. They document-
ed all her expenses vs. the only income, her military pension. And, they said some
prayers together too.
Feeling this veteran needed extra support right away to avoid eviction, they recom-
mended St. Vincent de Paul provide financial help above our normal guidelines.
Thanks to the generosity of IHM parishioners, this was approved and the family is
safely in their home.
If a parishioner needs help, they can call 678-892-6163.
FAREWELL, FATHER BILL! Saturday, June 18 Archbishop Gregory has assigned Father Bill Hao as parochial vicar at St. Brig-
id Catholic Church in Johns Creek, effective July 1. From that new assignment

We will send him to his new assignment with a reception in his honor on Satur-
day, June 18, 5:00-7:00 p.m., in the Historic Church. Please come help us offer
Father Bill our gratitude and affection.

parks, behind alleys, in the woods and those that have found a place in the
battered women, children and men shelters. If you have any questions about
this community service project or about Lady T please contact Troop Leader
Deb Henderson at hendersondl28@gmail.com.

discussion of the lectionary readings for the following Sunday. The study
meets in the Lower Level at two different times: 9:30 a.m. or 7:00 p.m. There is no registration required and no fee to participate. Feel free to join the group as your schedule permits.
Are you interested in becoming Catholic, or simply learning more about the Catholic faith? We look
forward to meeting you, answering your questions, and helping you
discern God’s call. Please join us for the first of our summer “inquiry” sessions on Wednesday, June 29,
7:00-8:00 p.m., in the lower level of the church. Contact Drew Denton in
the parish office for more information.
In preparation for the 2016-2017 school year, we are also seeking additional catechists for our faith formation programs. If you would like to help others understand and live their faith more fully – whether young children, teenagers, or adults – please let us know! Contact Drew Denton or Alicia Guerrero for more information on how to get involved.
Eligible students will receive the sacrament of Confirmation in the spring of 2017 (exact date to be determined, once the bishops release their schedules). All candidates for Confirmation must be baptized, practicing Catholics, in the 10th grade or higher. They must have received at least two years of religious education immediately prior to being confirmed, either at a Catholic school or through our parish Life Teen youth ministry program (the 2016-2017 school year will count as one full year). In addition, they must attend a few preparation sessions during the 2016-2017 school year and an overnight retreat just prior to Confirmation. There will be a mandatory meeting for Confirmation candidates and their parents on Sunday, September 25, 6:15 p.m. More details will be announced in the bulletin and on the parish website as they become available. For now, please mark your calendars for September 25 and make sure you are enrolled in religious education for the 2016-2017 school year (Enroll in Life Teen online at http://ihmatlanta.org/faith-formation-enrollment). And while you’re at it, please consider joining the music and ministry team for the 5:00 p.m. Sunday Mass, which will be moving in a youth-friendly direction this fall (sign up at http://ihmatlanta.org/lifeteenband).
If you’ve just graduated from middle school, it’s already time to start making plans for your Confirmation! Rising 9th-graders who wish to be confirmed in the spring of their 10th-grade year must be enrolled in religious education for the 2016-2017 school year. This can take place either as part of a Catholic school curriculum or through our parish Life Teen youth ministry program (or, for the adventurous, both!). Enroll in Life Teen online at http://ihmatlanta.org/faith-formation-enrollment. And while you’re at it, please consider joining the music and ministry team for the 5:00 p.m. Sunday Mass, which will be moving in a youth-friendly direction this fall (sign up at http://ihmatlanta.org/lifeteenband).
Adults who desire to be confirmed will follow a separate course of preparation. Please contact Drew Denton in the parish office for more details.
MISSION POSSIBLE 2016 All rising 9th-12th graders are invited to accept the
challenge to serve this summer at Mission Possible! This is
a 5 day in-town mission trip that we do with the youth at St.
Oliver Plunkett Church in Snellville. The cost to attend is
$75 per teen. Come share your time and talent to help others
this summer.
Registration forms are available online at
www.ihmatlanta.org/youth-ministry. Please contact Kathy
for more information.
ADULT CHAPERONES NEEDED!
A big part of having a successful Mission Possible,
is the help provided by the adults with transportation
and supervising work sites. Adults are NOT required
to stay overnight— FYI, the average work shifts are
from 8am-2pm, but once your group is done, you
may return home or better yet, stay with us for
dinner and evening activities! All chaperones must
complete the required volunteer forms and must be
background checked prior to participating. If you are
21 and over, and would like to participate in Mission
Possible this summer, please contact Kathy Guerrero
for more details.
ADULT VOLUNTEERS FOR LIFE TEEN AND EDGE This fall we will inaugurate the Life Teen (high school) and

seeking for adults (18 years and older) to join us in this
exciting journey. Both groups will meet on Sunday evenings
right after the 5:00 p.m. Mass, from 6:15-7:30 p.m.
You do not need any previous experience in youth ministry.
However, the only requirement is that all volunteers are
Safe Environment approved and have a background check
prior to becoming a volunteer. There is no age limit to
volunteer, but you must be at least a high school graduate. If
you are interested in working with the youth starting in
September, please contact Kathy Guerrero for more
information.

generosamente.
