The Blue Water Task Force (BWTF) sup-ported by Emergen-C Blue ® is the Surfrider Foundation’s volunteer-run, water testing, edu-cation and advocacy program. Surfrider Chapters use this pro-gram to raise com-munity awareness of water quality problems and to work toward so-lutions. The BWTF mea-sures bacteria levels at both marine and freshwater beaches and compares them to federal water quality standards established by the EPA to protect public health in rec-reational waters.
