• Who?– Examples: lab and epi SMEs, jurisdictional staff with

operational responsibility for lab messaging or ELR systems.

– Familiar with (or want to dive deeply into) LOINC and SNOMED terminology issues related to reporting

• What? – Review RCMT content and delivery mechanisms and

provide feedback

Life Cycle of RCMT

RCMT Content Development & Review Process

1) RCMT Planning Team – Develops RCMT Workbook with standard lab vocabulary and useful web site links.

2) Review the lab tests and criteria with CDC program Lab SME & Epidemiologist.

3) Demonstrate the RCMT Workbook on Thursday Meetings

4) Continue Online Discussions – phConnect / E-mail

5) RCMT planning team and ELR Standards Workgroup will address the questions on phConnect / E-mail.

6) Follow-up with CDC program, if needed

7) Distribute the first version of RCMT – June 30th, 2011 via CDC Vocabulary Server (PHIN VADS)

8) Maintain the RCMT – Ongoing process

RCMT Use: Filtering the output of Clinical Labs

RCMT Demo Schedule1) RCMT Content Demo Schedule is available on RCMT

1) Nationally Notifiable Condtionsa) Bacterial, Viral, Parasitic, Fungal, Non-Infectious,etc..

2) Non-Nationally Notifiable Conditions are not covered in the current demo schedule. If there is a good interest and participation, we may schedule these conditions demo also.
