• NAVFAC Environmental Restoration Program

– Initiative by the Department of the Navy to identify, investigate, and clean up former waste disposal sites on military property

– Program Objective:• Reduce the risk to human health and the environment from past

waste disposal operations and hazardous material spills in a cost-effective manner

• NIRIS– NIRIS is the Department of Navy’s Environmental

Restoration Program’s enterprise information management system

– Purpose:• To provide a key centralized resource for the storage,

dissemination, and visualization of NAVFAC environmental restoration data and reference materials

– NAVFAC’s ER Data in NIRIS (as of May 2017)• 626 users• 499,433 environmental sample locations (935,526 samples)• 48,419,818 analytical results• 277,091 documents• 839 Land Use Controls
