Bonham Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament
May 11, 2018
Begin or Renew your Membership at www.fannincountytexas.com or contact
the Chamber at 903-583-4811
Springtime in Bonham means flowers and golf tournaments. The
Chamber extends our thanks to all our teams and sponsors who joined
us at the annual Chamber Golf Tournament on May 11th.
This year’s tournament included our big money, hole-in-one
contests, but with winds blowing around 30mph all day, most of the
balls found the water instead of the hole. Players still had an enjoyable
day as they talked with our exclusive hole sponsors, grabbed lunch off
the grill from Brookshire’s, and tried their chances at the putting 50/50
contest.
The Chamber trusts our winners are enjoying their new clubs and bags.
Congratulations to :
1st Place: Legend Bank
2nd Place: Legacy Ridge
3rd Place: TMC Hospital
Fix N Feed provided the vehicles and
drivers for carting volunteers and
beverages around the course this
year. Thanks to them for the help!
Thanks to hard work of the golf
tournament committee, co-chaired
by Harley Smith and Melissa Wallace, the number of exclusive hole
sponsors exceeded last year’s count. The Chamber of Commerce
encourages this kind of community/business interaction whenever
possible. We appreciate feedback from our teams, sponsors and
volunteers so the event can continue to improve.

A project first proposed by David Keene,
the Bonham Chamber of Commerce has
been working behind the scenes for over a
year aligning the necessary resources for
bringing The Branded Wall to realization.
The Branded Wall will be made up of the
historical (or contemporary), Fannin County
cattle brands that individuals order to be
painted on the wall. It will double as a point
of interest for visitors, and a information
resource for researchers interested in
cowboy and local history. A fee of $100 to
order a brand painted on the wall will cover
operating expenses and web upkeep.
This project will be managed through the
Bonham Chamber of Commerce office.
Choosing the location was the first major
step. The owner of the corner building at
422 N Center granted the Chamber written
permission to use the wall in the beginning
of 2018, moving the project into the
promotion phase. In order to beginning
painting, there must be at least ten brands
ordered.
Anyone can order a brand by providing the
Chamber with:
• The Name of the Brand
• An Image of the Brand
• Any information/history you
want connected with the
Brand
• Your Contact Information
• A fee of $100
Contact the Chamber at 903-583-4811 for
more information.
What: A project to highlight the
Fannin County ranching heritage
and draw visitors to Bonham’s
downtown square
Project Description: A
tourist type display of cattle
brands painted on the North wall
of the building at 422 N Center.
Step 1 for this project will be to
paint “WELCOME TO BONHAM”
across the top of the wall. The
brands will be placed underneath
this as requested and space allows.
Using a 3x3 foot square per brand,
the wall will hold a grand total of
122 brands. A website will be
maintained where an individual
can click on a photo of a brand and
get more information about the
history of the brand, family that
had it, etc.

Business Spotlights of May
On May 24th the Chamber co-hosted its second lunch and learn
with BuzzHustle on the topic of marketing, digital and traditional.
The content of the class was accessible for those getting started in marketing and also gave us a peak behind some of
the more advanced options marketing technology allows for toady. Special thanks to the Breakfast Stop for allowing us
to use their facilities to hold the class.
The Chamber lunch & learns will be taking a break over the summer, picking up again in August to prepare for the
holiday marketing opportunities that come with the end of the year. We appreciate feedback on our events, and if you
have a topic you would appreciate attending a lecture on, feel free to send your ideas to the Chamber Membership and
Outreach committee at bonhamchamber@cableone.net
