We at ‘Titan’ are proud to have an association with Tata Institute of Social Sciences to support the Nations prestigious programme "National Skill Development" under the aegis of School of Vocational Education. We had started “Industrial Tool Manufacturing” vertical in the year 2015 with 25 students. Today we have 100 students in three batches under the same course.
We thank TISS-SVE for supporting and guiding us to run the course smoothly; and our hub partner M/s. GKD Institute For Technological Resources for creating awareness about the course and ensuring the students enrolment.
Our programme provides an opportunity to women, economically deprived masses to ensure improvement of student's life style as well as to support their families.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE QUARTER
We have received sponsorship for 15 students of Diploma in Geriatric care from Air India Express as their CSR initiative. Through this sponsorship, we will provide free education to 9 students from Mental Health Action Trust and 6 from Mitraniketan. We thank Air India Express for this kind gesture and expect
continued support in our Skill Development Project.
Inaugural function of 3rd Batch of B. Voc In Dialysis Technology at Apex School of Dialysis Technology was inaugurated on 18th June 2016 at Goregaon Sports Club Mumbai. Mr. Subhash Desai, Minister of Industries, Govt. of Maharashtra was chief guest for this function. Mr. Subhash Kulkarni, District Governor Rotary District No. 3140 and Prof. Neela Dabir, Dean of Tata Institute of Social Sciences – School of Vocational Education were the guest of honor. Students enrolled in this batch will get financial support from Global Rotary Grant and Apex Kidney Foundation.

NEW PARTNERS ON BOARD
On 24th August 2016 the Hub agreement signing ceremony took place between Prof. Neela Dabir of TISS-SVE
and Mrs. Reena Lanba President of Navy Wives Welfare Association (NWWA) in Delhi for B.Voc in Early Child
Development. The B.Voc in Early Child Development programme has started at NWWA, Delhi from 1st
September 2016.
'The Hope House' is the new hub partner under Child Care and Geriatric Care vertical in Vellore, Chennai. They are going to start B.Voc in Child Protection from January 2017. They also showed interest in Diploma in Geriatric care.

Stratadigm Education & Training Pvt. Ltd., Kakinada, a hub partner for BFSI (Banking & Financial Services)
vertical organized a mini-convocation to award the Certificates to students of Aditya Degree College who
completed the Banking & Banking Operations certificate program under BFSI vertical, on 26th September
2016. The students were given the certificates by the Registrar of the state university called Adikavi
Nannayya University.

Arya School of Management & IT, organized a press conference at Bhubaneshwar on 22nd July 2016 to
announce the launch of TISS-SVE programmes under Management & Entrepreneurship and Professional
Skills vertical. The conference was addressed by Dr. Prerna Sharma and Mr. Vivek Gajabe from TISS-SVE.
Many media persons from local and national media attended the conference and participated in the
interactions.
Gurukul Edutech, Howrah launched its Hub on 20th August 2016 with 45 Registrations for B.Voc
Agriculture. The programme commenced at 11 AM with TISS anthem and finished with National
Anthem followed by lunch. The different personalities present from Govt. of West Bengal and
Industries shared their views followed by students and parents interactive session with the different
personalities & guests present.

PLACEMENT DRIVE BY APAR INDIA
APAR INDIA ORGANISES CAMPUS PLACEMENT DRIVE FOR HDFC BANK & SBI
Apar India organized the campus placement drive, which is an endeavour of Apar India to accomplish
its Mission of “Sabko Shiksha, Sabko Rozgar”. Apar India, the brain child of Mr. R. K. Jain, in association
with Tata Institute of Social Sciences - School of Vocational Education, has been providing Work
Integrated Training Programs for the undergraduates and the post graduates with courses like B.Voc in
Sales & Marketing and B.Voc. in Banking, Financial Services & Insurance. The campus placement drive
had the companies like HDFC and SBI, which interviewed the students of the B.Voc program for on-the-
job training. The placement drive started in the morning with the students being nervous and anxious
and by the end of the day the mood in the campus was that of jubilation as students were able to crack
the interview and were selected. Students who got selected were on cloud nine, as, for most of the
students, it was their first attempt and they were still able to clear the interview. The stipend offered to
them was in the ranges from Rs 8000 to 12000 per month. The officials were thoroughly impressed
with the quality of students and lauded the efforts of TISS-SVE as well as that of Apar India for
providing such an impressive method of learning.

A visit to SKP, MHAT (Mental Health Action Trust), Calicut, providing Diploma in Geriatric Care was done on 4th July 2016.

A monitoring visit to JPISC (Jayaprakash Institute of Social Change), Kolkata offering B.Voc in Child Protection was done by Dr. Prerna Sharma on 25th and 26th September 2016. Meetings with students, trainers & SKP supervisors were conducted. Some SKPs were also visited.

The number of kidney patients needing dialysis is rising rapidly with two lakh new patients diagnosed every year in our country. There is a severe shortage of dialysis centers in our country mainly because of short supply of trained dialysis technicians. Since the need for dialysis technician is large, one is sure of getting employment after training. TISS-SVE in partnership with Apex Kidney Care, Mumbai has started a B.Voc course in dialysis technology - a three years’ vocational degree course with 5 days of hands on training at dialysis centers and 1 day of theory classes every week. Students with a 12th-pass in Science are eligible. The faculty consists of nephrologists, dialysis technologists, dieticians, engineers, vascular surgeons and other professionals. From early morning newspaper to bedtime mosquito repellant, printing and packaging products touches our day-to-day life in various forms, color and shapes. Printing and Packaging technology are like two different side of the same coin. Both are relative, dependent and equally important. When we talk of printing, then it is a part of mass communication process and it involves various skills. Primarily technical skills are important in printing industry where person is engaged in typesetting, designing, preparing image carriers, operations on printing press, binding as well as finishing operations. Each skill has to perform specific role and helps in contributing for the final output. The function of packaging is protection, storage and hygienic handling of a product and it plays a key role in the marketing mix.
The Indian printing industry is increasingly being driven by growth in packaging and labels. The print media also continues to grow at a healthy annual pace of four percent. As its growth trends continue to be well over the world averages, in print volume terms, India is set to become the fifth largest market by 2018 moving up five notches from its present tenth slot. There in lays a great opportunity for the Indian & International print suppliers. The Printing Industry in India with its allied industries like Printing Machinery Manufacturers, Packaging industries, Paper manufacturing, Ink manufacturing and manufacturers of raw materials and consumables put together ranks second in the world in growth and supplies. The Indian printing market is rapidly expanding sectors of the Indian economy, with a vast number of printers spread all over India. Estimates of the number of printers in India vary from 225,000 to 250,000 and industry has experienced rapid modernization over the past decade. There have been large investments in prepress, press and operations in every market segment. To meet the challenge of the internet and to keep pace with people’s lifestyles, most newspapers have become more colourful, shedding their staid and dull image.

Today young generation can choose a career in printing industry as working in this sector gives
promising opportunities to stride ahead with steady growth and move fast in their career path. But jobs
in the print industry also demand lot of hard work and patience. There is a huge opening for qualified
printing professionals in India. Jobs for printing technologist are available in advertising agencies,
newspapers/magazines, government presses, machine manufacturers, packaging converters,
commercial printers and even more in private press as technology consultant.

As part of the Work Integrated Training Programme (WITP) as per UGC, AICTE, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India norms and directives, Epitome Educational Society, a training hub partner of TISS – SVE at Silpukhuri, Guwahati offer Bachelor in Agriculture (B.Voc) course. Since India is an agrarian country about seventy percent of our population depends on agriculture and one-third of our National income comes from agriculture. Agriculture is the science of cultivation and tillage of soil, dairying, the production, cultivation, growing and harvesting of any agricultural, floriculture and horticultural commodities, the raising of livestock or poultry, and any practices performed by a farmer. With the changing time the concept of farming is getting more advanced and better. Presently our country is next to China in area and production of fruits and vegetable crops and has been contributing 10% of fruits and 14% of vegetable of the total world production. India produces about 70 different varieties of various vegetables.
