Newsletter Term 3 Week 6 2018 Principal: Lisa Crawford
Buy a Bale & City Slicker Fundraiser
Thank you to our amazing school community who strongly supported our Drought Relief
fundraisers for our rural communities in Week 4. There was over $850 in gold coin donations
and the office foyer was full of a large assortment of items that will be taken to Wee Waa.
Sally-Jane from City Slickers was absolutely gobsmacked with the response from everyone
and needed 2 loads to remove it from the school. It is wonderful to see how you all band
together to support those in need.
Open Day & Book Week Celebrations
Thank you to all who attended our Open Day and Book Week celebrations. It was wonderful
to see so many community members involving themselves in classroom activities and
supporting our P&C through the purchase of the delicious goodies at the canteen. It was also
fantastic to see so many Stage 3 students getting involved in the character parade and dress
as book characters. The Book Fair was also a huge success and we thank you for supporting
our Library through raising funds from the Book Fair.
Parent Workshop
On Wednesday September 12, the Got it! Team will be running a parent workshop on
‘Anxiety’ titled ‘Building Bravery’ in the School Library at 1.30pm. Everyone is welcome to
attend. The session will give some examples of anxiety. Please see flyer later in this
newsletter for more information.
Father’s Day Stall
Thank you for supporting our P&C Father’s Day stall yesterday. It is a wonderful opportunity for our students to go
‘shopping’ and select their gifts for a special dad, relative, carer or friend. Thank you to all our volunteers who helped
on the day. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Nepean Dance Festival
Good luck to our Junior and Senior Dance Groups who will be performing at the Dance Festival next week. Your
performances at the Marketplace and school were exceptional. Thank you to Miss Holroyd for all the hard work with
choreography and Miss Gelevski for all the behind the scenes work.
District Athletics
Good luck to all our athletes competing today and on Friday at the Hawkesbury District Athletics Carnival.
Boys Touch Football Knockout
Last Thursday our Touch Football Knockout team played Clairgate PS at the Kingsway St Mary’s. We started off slowly
but gained momentum in the second half. The final score was 9-3, however we won the second half 3-1. Well done
boys and Mr Smith for coaching. Thank you to all the parents for their transportation. Lisa Crawford
