Newsletter Term 3 Week 2 2018 Principal: Lisa Crawford
Welcome back to what I’m sure will be another busy and rewarding school term. I hope you all managed some quality
family time over the school holidays.
Kindergarten 2019
If you have a child who will be starting school next year, or know somebody who does, please come into the office
and fill out an enrolment form. The sooner we have an idea of numbers, the sooner we can start planning our classes.
Heads Up @ Hobartville
Heads up at Hobartville will be starting again later this term. It is an opportunity for any child starting school next
year, to come and experience some informal activities. They don’t even need to be coming to our school in 2019.
Parents stay with them for the afternoon session. Please see flyer later in the newsletter.
P&C 5 Cent Coin Challenge
The P&C will be having a 5 cent fundraiser over Term 3. Every student is encouraged to find as many 5 cent coins as
possible and add them to their class jar each week. There will be a class tally each week for the students to monitor.
The winning class will receive a pizza lunch as their reward. The P&C will also be having a Krispy Kreme Fundraiser and
a Father’s Day Stall this term. Your anticipated support is greatly appreciated.
Healthy Skills for Life Program
Our 5 week Healthy Skills for Life program starts this Friday. There was a
fantastic response to this last year from our students and parents. Please
come and see me if you have any concerns. See information attached.
Marketplace Performance & Education/ Book Week
This year, we are again combining Book Week and Education Week. Our
celebration will be held on Wednesday 15th August from 11am to
approx. 1pm. The students may dress in their favourite book character.
You should have already received an invitation, but there is also one attached in this newsletter.
Our Marketplace performance is Thursday 9th August.
School Grounds
We are continually in the process of trying to beautify and create unique outdoor learning
spaces. This photo is the beginning of a new area between our 2 front gates.
State Cross Country Carnival
Last Friday, Levi represented Hobartville and Sydney West at the State Cross Country Carnival.
He had a great morning and completed the two kilometres in 16 minutes 55 seconds. Levi was
the youngest person competing in his race. An amazing effort Levi!
Please see page of photos from our NAIDOC celebrations last Friday. All our students and staff had a great day.

Book Fair
Term 3 Week 4
To help celebrate Book Week this year, we will be holding a Book Fair commencing on Monday 13th August until
Wednesday 15th August. This will coincide with our Education Week/ Open Day celebrations.
Books will be on sale from 8.30am-9.00am and 3.00pm-3.15pm daily during these days.
If anyone would like to volunteer to be a cashier either before or after school on those days, could you please complete the
tear off section of the note in this newsletter and return it to the school office?
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Thankyou
