RSCAVC-AIR SIDE SOLUTION
Constant Air flow
Designed to control the flow of air without power.
Maintain set point in a pressure independent
operation.
Building-Designed Air Side Solutions
The model RSV-CAVC / can be operated at a
constant or variable- flow rate to maintain the
designed air flow. In an occupied or unoccupied
demand with, a low pressure drop damper
automatically maintains design air-flows in a supply
or exhaust systems. Controlled without electrical or
pneumatic in a pressure independent system.
Building designs cannot compensate for pressure
changes that commonly occur because of duct-work
installation, stack effect, poorly completed air
balancing, transfer duct-work sizing poorly, fans
operating over time and could be running over
designed static pressures and aging damper
adjustments off over time.
RS-CAVC fit the designs, the solutions and your
toughest requirements.
Balancing time is shortened and cost are
decreased because the RS-CAVC is pressure
independent with accessible settings. Final air fan
RPM is decreased adding to additional and some
time over looked energy savings in the total
building design. A complete air side ventilation
solution.
Manufactured air-side soultions are for most air
side systems, including cooling, heating and

AIR SIDE SOLUTION
Operation
Simple clock work function, the control arm
connects to the damper. It’s armature stainless
steel feeler spring control (ASC). When the
pressure modulates, the ASC control assembly
maintains flow at a constant rate. By using the
static pressure effect the flow setting is maintained.
Air flow temperature range is (38-155 F) (10-50C)
Model R Round or Q rectangle units: Once installed
in to the duct-work, operates pressure
independently. You can field-set the flow against
the required flow. The valve maintains the flow with
a mechanical balance of a UL-94-V2 -compliant
bellows and its armature stainless steal feeler
spring control (ASC). When the pressure
modulates the ASC controls the flow at constant
rate. In variable flow mode, the flow setting is
changed with an actuator. A standard control signal
operates the actuator for a floating or modulating
control point operation. The ASC controls the flow
throughout the range of the signal.
Both round or rectangle units operate and maintain
as close as 5 % in the middle range and 10 % on the
outside range.
Lower air flow rates are adjustable.
Pressure ranges are 0.2 inch Wg to 4.0 Wg, (50-800
PA) ( high-, medium, low -pressure systems). Units
are pre-factory calibrated as required. No
additional inserts for pressures or flow is required.
IR available in plastic or metal.
UL 181 compliant.
Installation
Installs into Round or rectangle duct-work.
RS-CAVC-IR Insert type installs into a 4 inch round
duct-work.
The CAVC-R metal units construction and lip can be
installed with metal or flexible duct.
RS-CAVC type flows are designed for air flows of
(30 CFM to 2650 CFM(45 m3hr to 4510 m3hr)
RS-CAV-Q type flows are designed for air flows of
(80 CFM to 7050 CFM(135m3hr to 1250m3hr).

Correct Airflow
Before RS CAVC installation
After RS CAVC installation
Installation changes
During operation, air dynamics change pressure
and flow from air filters to system dampers. The
CAVC will automatically change and maintain the
setting when there is a decrease or increase in the
static building pressures the damper modulates
and adjusts it self.
If the design was not correct, then the field can
adjust the damper to increase or decrease the flow
in the range of the damper.
Dirty filters will decrease the flow. With CAVC R-Q
it automatically adjusts.

Installation changes
Supply or exhaust units
Supply fans can now be adjusted without a fan-
motor variable speed drive (VSD), or SCR.
It is installed after the fan and the fan does not load
more then the air flow required therefore the motor
operates with the fan laws.

Apply with all Hard Ceiling Zones with manual ceiling adjustors
HSZ
Hard ceilings require damper
adjustments at the ceiling. Installing a
metal cable attached to the RS-RS-CAVC.
With the RS-CAVC air-flow adjustment are
made in the zones. Air Flow adjustments
not damper adjustment you’re in control
not the damper !
Installing a RS-CAVC inside a closed ceiling with a
cable regulator a perfect air adjustment is possible.
TAB is completed without a 2nd change in air
balance in other zones.
The difference is adjusting the air flow not adjusting
the damper.
Make VSD automatically resets and keep the air
flow without further adjustments to CAVC’s.
Once set, the air flow is regulated by pressure
independently a constant flow
Install with metal cable damper adjustors.
Save energy in all applications!
