This map presents the standing floodwaters over the affected Tehsils ofPeshawar and Mardan, N.W.F.P, Pakistanfollowing recent heavy monsoon rains. Thisanalysis is based on post-disaster satelliteimagery collected by MODIS sensors on 31July & 1 August 2010, and pre-crisis byMODIS sensors on 25-26 July 2010.Please note that the exact limit of the flood

waters is uncertain (approximately 250-500m) because of the relatively low spatialresolution of the satellite sensors used forthis analysis, and that detected waterbodies likely reflect an underestimation ofall flood-affected areas within the mapextent. This analysis has not yet beenvalidated in the field. Please send groundfeedback to UNITAR / UNOSAT.
