Generally: The state of being free from illness or injury.
Formal definition: "A state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease" according to the World Health Organization (WHO)

- Primary health care (PHC) refers to "essential health
care" that is based on scientifically sound and
socially acceptable methods and technology, which make
universal health care universally accessible to
individuals and families in a community.
Levels of Primary Health Care
Primary Level- lower level of chronic disease requiring self management support
Secondary level- high disease risk requiring disease/care management
Tertiary level- high disease complexity requiring care co-ordinate
