• Before 8:45 AM ….Parks & Rec!

• Carpool drop-off begins 8:45. Go straight

to cafeteria or your classroom.

• Buses start unloading at 8:45.

• Always check in with your teacher before

going anywhere except the cafeteria.

• 9:10 AM Start on Time Bell

• 9:15 AM Tardy Bell

Dismissal

• Carpool will go to gym at 3:40 PM.

• Bus dismissal begins at 3:45 PM.

• Late bus notifications/updates sign up

• Always go home the same way unless we have a note from your parents.

• Notify school of transportation changes before 2:30 PM.

• Buses cannot accommodate sending friends home with a child

• No student check out after 3:15 PM.

Information for Kindergarteners

Prepare for the first day….

• Be positive – your attitude determines your

child’s attitude!

• Communicate – send back important papers

• Get plenty of rest, and expect tired children in

the afternoon!

• Give your child a chance to relax before asking

specific questions about his or her day

What to bring…

• Bookbag

• Healthy snack

• Lunch or lunch money

• Change of clothes

• Rest towel

Staggered Entry…

• Monday – Thursday, August 29-Sept. 1

• Staggered Entry is a full day.

• Your child only attends school 1 day this week.

• Meet the Teacher, Sept. 2, 2 PM – 2:30 PM

Class lists for Kindergarten will be

posted outside of the classrooms at

2 PM on Meet the Teacher Day

First day with your whole class

• Tuesday, September 6

A Typical Kindergarten Day…

• Morning meeting/calendar

• Literacy

• Lunch

• Read aloud and writing

• Recess

• Specials

• Quiet Time/snack

• Math

• Science/Social Studies

Due care…

• Your child’s safety is a top priority. Especially with arrival and dismissal.

• Teachers will attach transportation tags on your child’s backpack

• Please leave these tags on during the first weeks of school.

Kindergarten Entry Assessment (KEA)

• District-wide assessment

• Administered during the first three weeks of

school

• Individual assessment of literacy, language,

math, fine/gross motor, and social/personal skills

Results will be shared at first conference
