Instant messaging was invented in the early 1990s.ICQ is a program for instant messaging, and it was invented in 1996 and made instant messaging very popular. In 1997 AOL a program for instant messaging was invented and made AIM.

- Skype- Yahoo!-g-mail -Twitter
