"The Rockschool on Wheels"

Concept• We're driving into a village with instruments and equipment• Low entry level (no musical skills required)• Instantly playing together in popbands• Learning music by playing cover songs • Pupils choose an instrument• Pupils pick the songs they want to play themselves• Coached by a (often young) bandcoach/artist • The bandcoach is assisted by a music student• Always working towards presentations and concerts• Bottom-up in cooperation with volunteers within the village

ComeOn!Challenge:

Translating the ComeOn! curriculum into a project that suited our school.

Three major decisions made beforehand:

1. Identifying a problem in the community: too few social activities involving young and elderly people

2. Creating a musical encounter between the young and the elderly

3. Working towards a presentation of the musical results.

First meeting (Unit 0/1)
