Prov 28:10 Whoso causeth the righteous to go astray in an
evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the
upright shall have good things in possession.
(TLB) 10 A curse on those who lead astray the
godly. But men who encourage the upright to do
good shall be given a worthwhile reward.

11 The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the
poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.
(TLB) 11 Rich men are conceited, but their real
poverty is evident to the poor.
The rich think themselves superior to others,
never understanding what they may have
given up to become rich.

12 When righteous men do rejoice, there is great
glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.
(NIV) 12 When the righteous triumph, there is great
elation; but when the wicked rise to power, men go
into hiding.

With good leaders like these, the
United States has prospered and
been a happy place to live.

13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but
whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have
mercy.
People sin, and because they think no one
knows, they go on in their sin.
They will suffer the consequences of sin
until they genuinely repent.

Psalm 34 17 The righteous cry, and the LORD
heareth, and delivereth them out of all their
troubles. 18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are
of a broken heart; and saveth ( to deliver or set
free) such as be of a contrite (crushed) spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the
LORD delivereth him out of them all.
Until our sin breaks our heart and crushes our
spirit, we will not truly repent.
Without repentance there is no righteousness.

13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but
whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have
mercy.
Sin can not be taken lightly,
as if it weren’t that bad.
Not only confess; not just say,
“I’m sorry.”
Confess and forsake.

14 Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that
hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.
(TLB) 14 Blessed is the man who reveres God, but
the man who doesn’t care is headed for serious
trouble.
Some folks carelessly call themselves
Christians, but don’t carefully live right.
They are headed for trouble.

15 As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a
wicked ruler over the poor people.
Rich people can protect themselves from his
evil with money and lawyers.
But the poor suffer without recourse.

A wicked ruler is bad for everyone, but most
especially for the poor.
In the United States
we elect our leaders;
choose well.
