• Using the article about Leeds being gentrified, can you work out what the process actually is?

What is gentrification?
• This human process that changes living spaces can be defined as:– ‘the restoration or upgrading of deteriorated
urban property by middle class or affluent people, often resulting in displacement of lower- income people’
– ‘a process by which the character of a traditionally working-class area is made fashionable by middle-class people’
• So, it is when an area is upgraded, or regenerated, and usually as a result more wealthy people move into the area.
