Areas of high pressure Widely spaced isobars Light winds Can remain in place for several days In summer they give bright, hot conditions Occur when the air descends Clear skies in summer

Dew and sometimes a mist in the morning

Hot and sunny day Some high ‘wispy’ clouds Evenings cold (no clouds to keep heat

in so it escapes)
