CALAPA SPRING CONFERENCE

ONTARIO, CA

APRIL 21, 2016

Caltrans – HMA – up to 15%▪ No Fractionation

Caltrans – HMA - >15% <25% Fractionate RAP

Fine RAP = -3/8”

Coarse RAP = +3/8” -1”

May lower PG grade

2

– For Binder replacement >25% <40% - Fractionate Must lower PG grade

3

<15% RAP – >15% RAP – HMA mixture binder grade must

not be stiffer than the specified PG binder grade.

Use blending charts for high, intermediate and low critical temperatures.

4

We are still trying to figure this out. How do we design mixes in advance of actual

shipping. What changes can we make during

production How do we incorporate Rejuvenating agents

and other additives that effect the mix PG.
