SUMMER HOMEWORK 2016

Reading:

El Viaje Perdido by Lisa Ray Turner and Blaine Ray.

1. Read the novel "El viaje perdido". There are 9 chapters, so I recommend you space it out and read

one to two chapters a week. It is a level 2 book, so my hope is that you will be able to read it and

understand it. If you have a buddy in the class, you could get together and read it together (translating

it in English out loud line by line} and help each other.

2. Read one chapter, then do the questions that go with that chapter. Continue one chapter a week.

Don't put it off until the last week of vacation! Do all your work in SPANISH.

3. Prepare to turn it in by the first day of school. Please print out your work and either staple it

together or put it all in a report cover. Turn it in the first day of school. Type or handwrite

NEATLY your answers. l will not grade work that I find illegible.

When you don't know a word:

1. The novel has a glossary in the back of most of the words.

2. Go to www.spanishdict.com and type in the word you need translated.

3. While reading, try skipping the word and seeing if you can still get the gist of the paragraph.

If not, you may have to look in your actual Spanish-English dictionary.

Be honest and honorable:

ALWAYS USE YOUR OWN WORDS!

Do not copy someone else's work.

You may work with a classmate and you may discuss the book together.
