To work well as team members

Mr. Superior

You better listen clear

If you want your subordinate to feel like

they matter

Listen about the concept of immediacy

Communication with no obligation’s how it should

be

It shows the subordinate you ain’t trippin on power

And prevents your relationship from going

sour

And I can’t stress enough the weight of feedback

Cuz no guidance between members is just plain

whack

Evaluations make for good motivation

Positive or negative

They affect your objectives

Open and strategic persuasion

(with no pay!)

Your position on the totem

pole

Determines workplace communication roles

Chapter 11 deals with relational challenges

With peers and co-worker communication

Peer relations

At work make you work at your best

Reduce dissatisfaction

And relieves your stress (and turnover!)

Organization and personal

Nature of relationships in organizations has two

forms

Personal’s by choice, voluntary and natural

While organizational is mainly structural

Space affects relationships in the

workplace

You’re bound to get close if you’re near each other

most

There are 4 other principles, but you should read yo notes! (fool!)

There are positive and negative consequences

To work relationships, don’t you give me no lip

Or there’ll be strain on our friendship

And I’ll cause you pain not in your interest

If we communicate and listen

We’ll have a support

And greater loyalty system

To the company (and each other!)

We come to the conclusion that communication

With peers at work creates a bond

With you and organization

Leaders and leadership In chapter 13

Managers do things right while leaders do the right thing

To be a good leader, better have these traits

That’ll make co-workers love you and will get you

dates (with girls!)

Energy, intelligence, knowledge and dominance

Leaders are born and not made equipped with self-

confidence

Traits and process are the two different views

Traits are what make you, and process is what you do

Where Leadership and interaction go hand in hand

And make a great combination like raisin and bran

Leadership has a few different styles

Remember these terms while you sort through files

Transformational, transactional, and situational

Leadership will cause you to be more inspirational

Transactional leadership uses 3 different factors

Important concepts to remember from the 13th

chapter

Contingent rewards are where followers hold

Specific performance goals to support their office

roles

Exception-active is the 2nd factor to address

It requires the leader to monitor the follower’s

progress

Last but not least is exception-passive

It involves corrective action

For employee satisfaction

But Mr. Leader has to wait

For problems to happen

Before he can act on the pending transaction

Impression management includes 5 strategies

That can help you and others to effectively lead

Ingratiation, self-promotion and intimidation

Exemplification and the 5th is supplication

I hope you paid attention to the words I’ve been

sayin’

So on your next exam, you’ll be certain you

ain’t failin’

Superior-subordinate relationships

Relational challenges

And leaders and leadership
