A motion to advertise for a Pre-K Teaching positionwas made by Russell Cain. Motion was second by AlanBerginski.

On roll call vote all were in favor. Motion carried.A motion to approve the resignation of Para-Pro-

fessional, Jacob Jeannotte was made by Monti LaVal-lie. Motion was second by Amy Gourneau. On roll callvote all were in favor. Motion carried.

A motion to advertise for two Para-Professional po-sitions was made by Alan Berginski. Motion was secondby Monti LaVallie. On roll call vote all were in favor. Mo-tion carried.

Amy Gourneau motioned to approve an absenteeballot-only election for June 9, 2020. Second by RussellCain. On roll call vote all were in favor. Motion carried.

Bids were received for the purchase of two schoolbuses. Monti LaVallie moved to accept the bid proposedby Harlowʼs Bus Sales with no trade-in for $83,995.00each. Second by Alan Berginski. On roll call vote allwere in favor.

Motion carried.A motion to approve the Special Education En-

dorsement Plan was made by Monti LaVallie. Motionwas second by Amy Gourneau. On roll call vote all werein favor. Motion carried.

Superintendent Frydenlund reported on the follow-ing items. A facilities update was given on the followingprojects: Pre-K classroom construction, remodel oflocker rooms, and repair of the parking lot, boiler, and li-brary ventilation system. Summer school distance learn-ing was discussed. There may be a small graduationceremony for seniors with limited attendance. The gunclub has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the NRA.The St. John School has been awarded $533,250 fromthe CARES Act Funding or ESSER. These funds willhelp cover additional costs not covered by COVID-19such as transportation, technology device replacement,and cleaning supplies. The school has also beenawarded the Early Literacy Grant in the amount of$1,000,000.00 which is payable over five years.

The next meeting date is scheduled for Wednesday,May 20, 2020 at 7:00pm.

There being no further business, President Bel-garde declared the meeting adjourned at 8:49 pm.

MONDAY, MAY 4,2020Council Mayor: Blaine Scott called the meeting to

order on Monday the 4th day of May 2020, at the Ro-lette Memorial Hall-7:00 P.M. The following memberswere present: Mayor: Blaine Scott, Councilmembers:Andy Gilje, Randy Rost, Nathan Casavant & Jaime Keg-ley.

Auditor: Kim Azure, Public works: Don Berg, RolettePolice: Joe Kaufman, other attendee: Kelly Peach. TheCouncil meeting was held at the Memorial Hall to allowfor social distancing.

The April Regular meeting minutes were read-A Mo-tion was made by Kegley and second by Casavant toapprove the April regular meeting minutes Roll call vote-All Agreed-Motion carried

A Motion was made by Rost and second by Gilje toapprove the Police log for April. Roll call vote-All Agreed-Motion carried.

Review of literature regarding the Family First coro-navirus Response Act.

Review of brochures regarding E-Cigs.The City looked over applications for part time/sum-

mer help, A Motion was made by Kegley and second byRost to hire the following people with set hourly wages,Kyle Julson @$16.00 per hour, Casey Julson @ $12.00per hour, Haley Berg @ $12.00 per hour and ConnieLemieux @ $12.00 per hour. Roll Call vote-All Agreed-Motion carried.

Review of a building permit application from TerryEllingson to build a 6ft enclosed gated fence at 406 parkstreet. Kegley made a Motion to approve the application,motion not seconded, motion failed, Application was de-nied due to lack of a second. Kelly Peach was in atten-dance pertaining to this item on the agenda.

A Special animal permit application was submittedto the Council from Caroline Fox, she currently has 7dogs and 4 cats. The application for the Special animalpermit was denied by the City council members 4-4.

A Motion was made by Gilje and second by Casa-vant to approve the Cleaning and inspection servicecontract with Maguire Iron FY 2021-2030 at an annualfee of $1,750.00. This contract is for the Water Towercleaning.Roll call vote-All agreed.

Rolette County transit is asking for a donation(match)towards the purchase of public transit vans, theCity Council has kindly declined.

Discussion relating to Laducers Sanitation ¼ yarddumpsters.

Discussion pertaining to the Valley gutter on high-land street this needs to be repaired.

Council members read a Letter from Becky Leonard(Rolette County Historical Society) pertaining to the GurrBuilding located in the City of Rolette, the building willbe getting repaired, following the vandalism.

Complaints regarding Hoffman Trailer court, Letterwill be sent to Jeff Hoffman regarding garbage.

receive sealed bids for the 2020-2021 school yearfor the items/services listed below. You are invit-ed to submit a sealed bid, subject to the terms,conditions, and instructions of this invitation tobid. Failure to comply may disqualify your bid.

Sunday Dorvan and Eileen Yoderand their children and families wereguests of their son, Japheth, and LisaYoder, Shayla, Jamin, Jaxon, andMaKenna, of rural Perth, in honor ofthe May 20th birthdays of Shayla,and her cousin, Mya Martin. Troyand Janalyn Musser and childrenwere not there as they had gone toMontana.

Saturday Della Gaschk, of Bis-marck, came to the home of her sis-ter, Marge, and Dale Pederson. Theladies went into Rolette and hadlunch with their mother, BettyHaman, at her home.

Wednesday afternoon Marge Ped-erson was at the graduation party ofher grandson, Eli Pederson, at thehome of Ryan and Jenn Pederson,

Ella, Eryn, and Eli. Eli graduatedfrom kindergarten at the RoletteSchool.

Steve and Lynnette Berg went toFargo on Saturday and then on toLake Ashtabula where they set theircamper up for the summer. Theystayed overnight and returned homeon Sunday.

Curt and Joan Anfinson went toMinot on Friday for an IEP meetingfor their daughter, Jodi, of Minot.After the “social distancing and vir-tual” meeting, Jodi returned homewith them for the weekend.

Rick Benson, of Jamestown, hasbeen helping his brother, Randy, andKathy Benson with their field workthis spring.

Wednesday Kathy Benson andtheir houseguests, Kyle and Sara Mc-Clammer, Max, and George, of Indi-anapolis, Indiana, went to Candowhere they visited Babe Benson andJim Bulie through the windows at theTowner County Living Center.After-wards they met Kathy’s brother,John, and Judy Bulie, of Cando, atthe city park and ordered take outsupper.
