System Description
1. General
This profile system includes heat-insulated, two-wall composite profiles (three-chamber system) for the production of windows and doors.Heat insulation is achieved by thermal separation of the inner and outer profile walls by means of glass-fibre reinforced isolating webs made of polyamide, with special melted wire inserts. The compound is manufactured force-fit and form-fit in the press plant by controlling the quality. In order to improve the thermal insulation, the hollow space between the isolating strips is partly filled with highly insulating polyurethane rigid foam. The design is in accordance with the state of the art and the directives and recommendations of the insulating glas, fittings and sealing materials manufacturers and meets the requirements of the “Directive for the Proof of Stability of Composite Metal-Plastic Profiles” of the German Institute for Construction Engineering,Berlin, as well as the requirements of the provisions regarding quality and testing of aluminium windows. The U
f values of the profiles and profile combinations have been
determined acc. to EN ISO 10077 and are given acc. to DIN V 4108-4: 2002 in design values. The air permeability of joints and watertightness under heavy rain of the windows correspond to the exposure category C of DIN 18055.The construction of solid, safe and operational elements is guaranteed. The “Code of Practice for the Processor” in our latest main catalogue must be observed for the use and processing of our design. With our delivery of composite profiles you are also receiving our guarantee for this product.
2. System Scope
This profile system includes window and door profiles for the construction of side-hung, turn and tilt, tilt and double sash windows, doors and parallel-slide-and-tilt doors. The main profiles include narrow and wide outer frame, sash, glazing bar, post and sill rail profiles.Additional profiles are respectively available for wall connections, as well as for expansion and decorative glazing bars. Glazing rebate strips for filling thicknesses (glazing thicknesses) from 18 to 45 mm are available.
2.1 Heat insulationThis profile system contains window profiles for manufacturing swivel windows, tilt and turn windows and pivot windows. The main profiles comprise narrow and wide blind frames, sash and bar profiles. Due to the hidden sash profiles, only minor profile view widths are achieved. The RGB series is especially suitable for the use in facades. For wall connections, expansion and adornmentbars, relative additional profiles are available. Glass rebates for priming thicknesses (glass thicknesses) are available depending on the catalogue.
2.1 Thermal insulationThe heat-insulated construction contains frame and bar profiles with a frame profile depth of 75 mm and a sash profile depth of 85 mm, and is equipped with a large-volume, EPDM multistage middle sealing.
Additionally, the glass rebate is shielded with EPDM multistage cover profiles on both sides of the filling against thermal radiation and air convection. The indicated nominal values for the thermal transmission coefficient Uf for single profiles and profile combinations are given in separate tables and are proven by the relevant testcertificates of the Institute for Window Techniques Rosenheim e.V.
3. Construction
3.1 Maximum sash sizesWindows: Sash width 380 - 1600 mmSash height 600 - 2400 mmmax. Sash weight: 130 kgadditional middle locks starting with 1250 mm sash height or width.
3.2 StaticsThe cross-sectional values of the profiles (idleness and resistance momenta etc.) are given in separate statics’ tables.3.3 Connection of frame and bars The connection of the profiles’ corner brackets and T-connectors is achieved in both hollowchambers with glued-in aluminum corner brackets and T-connectors, which are fixated with spiral pinks or mechanical angle connection devises. The fabricator must ensure the water impermeability against mitres and shocks. This is especially valid for lower horizontal frame and bar profiles. All holes on corner brackets and T-connectors (continuous nuts of the glass rebate strips, clamping nuts in the rebate etc.), the front side of the basis profiles towards the frame profile etc. must be specially sealed (also in thin layers) with the appropriate elastic silicone or Thiokol sealing substance.
3.4 Middle sealingEPDM middle sealing as frame with 50 mm form angles. Gluing with the form angles is achieved with the contact glue 905 410cyanoacrylate glue). Cutting the sealing profile is calculated asfollows: Sash size minus 100 mm (2 x 50 mm form angle) plus 0,5 %. Example: Sash size 1100 mm. Cutting the middle sealing =1100-100 + 5= 1005 mm.
3.5 GlazingGlazing with sealing substance-free rebate with preformed EPDM sealing profiles. In order to guarantee the venting (vapour pressure compensation) of the rebate area, holes are drilled in front of the middle sealing which lead to the outer air and have a minimum cross-section of 15x5 mm or 8 mm diameter. The holes are at the lowest point of the rebate and are foreseen at least twice in the lower horizontal. The outer holes are between the frame angle and the glazing block, a maximum of 100 mm away from the corner. It is suggested to make additional lateral holes on the upper side.Blocking is achieved on system’s own glass rebate inserts. Blocking inhibits the insertion of air or water (condensate) in the rebate. If the glazing is done by using sealing substances, then you should consider the table “Exposure groups for glazing windows” by the Institute for Window Techniques e.V. Rosenheim.

A guarantee regarding the adequacy after completion of this procedure can be granted only if the profiles are delivered immediately after manufacture to the anodic plant and are processed there directly. We donot take any responsibility for this procedure with regards to the delivery of products that originate from the stock of inventory.
4.2 Colour coatingThe colour coating must be carried out according to the “Quality and test specifications for coating RAL-RG 631 parts”. Coating theprofiles is achieved by heating powder lacquerin a hardening furnace. Generally, powder lacquers on polyester basis are used. The layer strength should be 60 to max. 120 μm. The layered profiles are with a max. 175° ± 10 °C object temperature and a heatingduration in a hardening furnace of approx. 20 minutes (after achieving the object temperature). The aluminum profiles should be pre-processed carefully according to DIN 50939 for an acceptable colour coating.Chromating is unavoidable.
5. Dimensioning the compound profiles
The dimensions mentioned in the catalogue are planning dimensions. Due to the differenttreatment of the surfaces, they should not be used as control dimensions for the compoundprofiles delivered by us.
System Description3.6 Draining the constructionThe water inserting the pre-chamber (average pressure chamber) is guided directly outside over at least 2 pieces 28 x 12 mm water outlet holes which are in front of the middle sealing. These are approx. 120 mm away from the frame end and have a maximum distance of 600 mm. The holes are covered with drainage inserts. In case of downward drainage directly on the window sill or over the basis profile, the incoming water is drained off with 35 x 6 mm big water outlet slots. The number and position is the same as previously described. The corresponding water outlet slots in the AI basis profile should be displaced for 50 mm at the opposite of the slots in the frame profile.

3.7 Condensate water formationThe formation of condensate water on the heat-insulated compound profiles is only then possible, if the relevant isolating
glass panes (formation of perspiration) would appear with the corresponding inner and outer temperatures and the air humidity of the inner room.Additionally installed profiles on the outside, as rolling shutters or window sills, change in a negative manner the inner surface temperatures of these profiles and thus the behavior of the condensate water. The fabricator must be careful not to allow any cold air in the inner peels of the frame profiles when the elements have been installed. This is especially important if rolling shutters have been installed over the elements. In this case, the frame profile must be covered on the front side with fixed sealing strips from PUR or polystyrene rigid foam. Thermal bridges should be avoided.
4. Surface handling
For handling surfaces, the FWB guidelines State 11/91 are valid. A different colour scheme of the profiles can be done before bonding the half shells.
4.1 Anodic oxidation (anodic treatment)For the anodic oxidation of the aluminum parts, DIN 17611 is valid. The quality and test specifications on “Anodized aluminum RAL-RG 661” must be considered before the anodic treatment. The anodic manufactured oxide layers must have a minimum layer thickness of 20 μm. Special care must be shown to the material that will be anodically oxidated according to procedure E6 (stained and anodized).

Measurement of pillars and latches
Loading width:The loading width c1 or c2 results from bisecting the fields that are adjoined to the pillars or latches.Loading case:A loading case is understood to be a carrier standing without support on two pillars with trapezoidal or triangular load. The division of the loading surface is achieved by bisecting the angle.Allowed bending:Generally, fzul = 1/300 • I (DIN 18056)The manufacturer of the isolating glass acknowledge this as max. bending of the position points of the support width I, although they limit the allowed bending in the partial area (bending between the position points of the largest partial area) to fzul. = 1/300 * I = 0,8 cm.Loading assumption: (DIN 1055, Part 4)Back pressure q = 0,5 kN/m2 (height over the area = 0 - 8 m)Back pressure q = 0.8 kN/m2 (height over the area = 8 - 20 m)Back pressure q = 1.1 kN/m2 (height over the area = 20-100 m)Pressure coefficient c p = 0,8 + 1/4 = 1,0Wind pressure w = q • c p (kN/m2)Material information on solidity of the Al-Leg. AlMgSi 0,5 F22 (DIN 4113)Minimum tensile strength Bz = 22 kN/cm2Minimum limit of elasticity d 0,2 = 16 kN/cm2Allowed voltage {main load H): d zul = 95 N/mm2Elasticity module E = 7000 kN/cm2
Using table I and IIFor the pillars or latches of single-paned fields Example “A” Table I should be used. For the pillars or latches of multi-paned fields Example “B” Table II should be used, if all partial areas = 240 cm.In example “C”, the biggest partial area of the pillar was measured with 320 cm. Since it is above 240 cm, for this areafzul = 0,8 cm or fzul. = /p/0,8 • I = 320/0,8 • I = 1/400 • IThis allowed bending of 1/400 • I of the partial area is valid for the total pillar length of 460 cm.In order to determine the required idleness momentum I *, one must divide the value from the adjoining table II by 300and then multiply it with 400.

Determining the nominal values of the thermal transmission coefficient Uw from the tables of the EN ISO 10077-1: 2000and DIN V 4108-4: 2000.Determining the nominal values of the thermal transmission coefficient LL for windows and french doors according to exam-ple 1:
1. Take the nominal value Uf from the Brökelmann table 1-3 according to EN ISO 10077-2.
2. Classify the nominal value Uf and determine the Uf,Bw (rated value) in table 7 according to DIN V 4108B4:2002-02.
3. Transfer Uf,Bw in table F.1 or, otherwise, F.2 in order to determine the nominal value of the thermal transmission coefficient
Uw according to EN ISO 10077-1:2000 and DIN V 4108-4.
4. Determine Ug value and read nominal value Uw in table F.1 or F.2.
Caution: The nominal values contained in table F.1 and F.2 for windows and french doors Uw have been determined with standard window sizes 1,23m x 1,48m and have a frame surface percentage of 30% or 20%.Uf = Thermal transmission coefficient for frames.Uw = Thermal transmission coefficient for windows.Ug = Thermal transmission coefficient for glass.Ud = Thermal transmission coefficient for doors.
