Rome is famous for its

seven hills:Palatine

Capitoline

Aventine

Esquiline

Caelian

Quirinal

Viminal

Of the seven hills, the two most well-known are

the Palatine and the Capitoline.

The Palatine is the hill on which Rome was founded. Many wealthy Romans and emperors lived on this hill.

The Palatine Hill is on one side of the Roman Forum.

The Capitoline Hill is on the other side of the Forum.

The Forum was the business and political center of Rome.

Rome began as a monarchy.A Monarchy is a rule by kings. There were 7.

Finally, it was an empire. The first Roman Emperor was Augustus.
