Ibelieveinthenotionthatnooneofusisasstrongasallofustogether.However,everygroupmusthavethatonepersonwhotakestheleadandvalidatesthatwithoutoneofus,therestofuswouldnotbeasstrong.ThatleaderforusisLibbyGibbs,presidentoftheScenicBrookNeighborhoodAssociation.LibbybringsanuncompromisingoptimismtoherroleastheSBNApresident.Sheisverypassionateaboutherfamily,herhome,herneighborhood,andhercommunity.Inadditiontobeingafabulousmothertothreeteenagers,afeatinandofitself,sheisanadoringwife,apharmacistandsmallbusinessowner,volunteerswithMealsonWheelsandisaregularvolunteerwithherchurchandlocalschools.Ifthatisn’tenough,LibbyisalsoinattendanceatnearlyeveryOHANmeeting,OakHillplanningcommitteemeeting, andTXDotpresentationbeing theeyes, earsandoften,asshewasatarecentCityCouncilmeeting,thevoiceofScenicBrook.ManyofyouwhoalreadyknowherknowwhatIamtalkingabout.Libby’sgivingspiritandpositiveenergyenrichthelivesofeveryonearoundher.Herexampleshouldbeachallengetousalltogetmoreinvolvedwithourneighborhoodandcommunity.Weareproudtoknowherandfortunatetohaveherasourleader.IknowthatIwillseeLibbyandIhopetomeetandseeallofyouatanyoftheupcomingScenicBrookevents.

CPR Training Canyousavealife?Hopefullyyouwouldneverneedto.WehaveanopportunitytoparticipateinCPRtrainingrighthereintheScenicBrookNeighborhood.Thecostofthecoursewouldbedependantonthenumberofparticipants,(between$30and$50),butthinkinglongterm,thecostofsavingsomeone’slife?Priceless. The CPR class would be taught by a trainer who is state certified throughtheAmericanRedCross.BasicCPRtrainingis4hours.Aclasscoveringadult,childandinfantis8hours.Thereisalsoa4-hourrefreshercourse.Uponcompletionofthecourse,eachparticipantwill be given a certification card.
