IntroductionThe Faculty of Physics of the University of Valencia (UVEG) calls the X Fair competition of Physics Experiments and Demonstrations and Technological applications 2015.

These experiments and demonstrations must present relationships between natural phenomena and technological applications that surround us, between physics and technology.

Objectives

● Bring science and technology to the public.● Involve especially young people: school students

(Secondary School and vocational training).● Prepare a project or experiment.● Show and explain it to the fair open to the public.● Highlighting the relationships between natural

phenomena and technological applications that surround us.

Categories

Participants can prepare any experimental work that demonstrates qualitatively and/or quantitatively a physical principle or their practical application, especially their relationship.They are establishing two categories of competition: 1. Demonstrations and experiments in Physics.

2. Projects of technological applications.

Tasks

Participants must:● Build an operating device with

any type of material.● Understand its operation and

the underlying physics principles.

● Observations and/or measurements.

● Draw conclusions.

Enrollment

EnrollmentParticipation data are entered through a form (on-line) and it was necessary to attach a file to the project description.

This description had to be:● Clear.● Students must show they have understood their own

project.● Emphasizing the physical fundamentals.● The observations and conclusions that could be

obtained.

The Fair/Exhibition

The arrival

Participants exhibited their projects at the fair open to the public on 26th April 2015 in the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum .

The exhibition Pretends to turn students in active and creative protagonists of Science and Technology.

There was a great public success and participation.

Work in the exhibitionThere they explained their projects to visitors and a jury consisting of professors from the University of Valencia and Secondary Schools teachers.

What did the jury Evaluate?● The project worked properly● The correct understanding

of the work by the students.● The clarity of their

explanations.

Scientific show

A group of students of the faculty of physics faculty delighted us with a science show.Several experiments in physics in an artistic and funny way were made.
