There are many companies and employees that face the same pain point

Three ways to mobilize SharePointBuild something custom – which is the approach we typically take
Buy a mobile application that can access SharePoint (like SharePlus)
Use an enterprise mobile platform while maintaining interfaces to SharePoint
Document Access• SharePoint 2007, 2010 & 2013 connectivity• Office 365 compatibility• Offline access to synchronized documents• Search all SharePoint fields• View all common document types• Upload files and modify list content
Security and Control• Leverage existing SharePoint authentication• Enforce document-level security• Leverage mobile encryption for local storage• Restrict specific documents to connected
only• Limit specific documents to in-app only
“ShareBox” is just the beginning

Content driven Enterprise applications can be created with SharePoint as the backbone. Benefits:
Make your enterprise tablets and smartphones more than e-mail / PIM checkers
Use best in breed mobile development tools to create engaging interfaces
Permissions and access are built-in
The Approach is to
Create Mobile Apps that Use SharePoint Content…
Challenges
18
There are difficulties to single-use, consumer-like apps that access enterprise data:
Most lines of business want “business as usual”
Tablets & smartphones are not PCs
Corporate capabilities can’t keep up with differentiation in operating systems, even within the same operating system

Case StudiesUsing these concepts today
Industry: Professional Services End-Users: 130 Business Development Execs
Overview: Consulting organization with 2,200 employees across 12 markets with about 1,000 clients
Business ProblemIn a growing consulting organization, Business Development Execs needed a consistent understanding of client experiences across it’s 12 markets. Newer BD Execs were not always aware of the work completed in other markets.
SolutionSharePoint 2010 was used to house “approved” public facing credentials. Credentials went through a workflow of content creation, client approval, and finally publishing to a shared folder with appropriate access permissions. A mobile app was created to pull down content including copy, video testimonials and project statistics. The mobile app also facilitates ease of searching by market, industry and capability area.
BenefitsClients and prospects get one version of the truth, which has been approved for sharing, regardless of which market they are in, or who is explaining the project experience. This has led to an increase in sales activity for industry targeted campaigns. After this tool was deployed, follow-up meetings have jumped up by 29% since the period before.
Industry: Healthcare End-Users: 7,000 field reps
Overview: 275 operating companies in more than 60 countries employing nearly 128,000 people
Business ProblemVarious business units deployed mobile devices, however, field reps could not get access to files in SharePoint or their SkyDrive Pro accounts. This was important as over 90% of field reps’ work occurs outside of the office. One-off purchases of 3rd party apps circumvented procurement processes, and bloated feature sets of the apps confused end-users resulting in excessive calls to the corp. help desk.
SolutionUsing the interface layer to SharePoint 2013 and SkyDrive Pro, a mobile app was built using only those features necessary to the field reps. Use cases such as move, rename, sync and un-sync were built into the app. In addition, a custom quiz was built in collaboration with IT Security and Compliance to help field reps understand what types of classified data they should not be syncing to their mobile devices.
BenefitsWith mixed mobile devices in the field, employees can now be productive reviewing and interacting with SharePoint data. Without this solution, the client was risking low adoption of their SkyDrive Pro investments.
