September 2013 Updates:

School holidays, part 2

Deena and Emma (with mum Sarah) came to visit us and enjoyed morning tea in the Sukkah.

Then we walked to the gallery, which the Northridge girls didn’t like as it was hot,

and looked at the exhibition.

Here Sarah is looking at Ivy’s works, in the TAFE student’s exhibition

(they work at the same library)

The girls enjoyed voting in the

Snapshot exhibition

After the successful voting, the Northridge girls enjoyed the “Scissors, paper, rock

(the boat)” exhibition.

Left: enjoying the shadow puppets activity.

Sadly, we didn’t have a lot of time to spend

at the gallery.

On the way back everyone wanted to help with the pram...

They left us a big bag of Bamba,

which the girls highly appreciated.

A few days later we did the same route to the gallery again, this time with our friend and ex-neighbour Trudy

and her lovely three kids, Lily, Hayden and Cullum.

The kids ran the whole way and got to the cafe so thirsty.... So we first stopped for a drink.

Then we did some voting at the Snapshot exhibition

And then took a close look at the exhibition at the Lewers Learning centre

Trudy, who is an archaeologist, was a lot more interested in the local rocks than the

art... So we had a short trip down to the river bank to have a look around.

Then we walked back home and the kids enjoyed bubbles while I got lunch ready.

We had alphabet soup, pasta Bolognese and heaps of fruit for desert

I had a picnic in the living room with the girls when one of the play dates

got cancelled due to an illness.

It was the first time in two weeks that the girls noticed their dad was away...

I always suspected I do 90% of the things with them... But it was sweet they mentioned it would be nice if

Barak was part of their picnic.Next: celebrating Sukkot!
