Education impacts us all We think about it everyday We are concerned when we have

issues with our education We look for ways to improve our

education

However…….

What if you couldn’t go to school? What if you couldn’t read?

Do we have the same concern for others?

Are we looking for ways to improve the education of others?

Are there things we can do?

IN THE WHOLE WORLD:

70% of children ages 5-6 are enrolled in school

115 million primary aged children don’t go to school

More than 100 million children have no access to school

60 million of those are girls

IN THE WHOLE WORLD:

More than 960 million adults cannot read 2/3 of them are women

Only 70% of all students in public high schools graduate

Only 32% of all students that finish high school are qualified to attend four-year colleges.

646,449 children are not attending school.

2,258,200 people over 15 can not read

1,104,600 men can not read1,153,700 women can not read

Have schools give a not as good education but everyone can go

The issue of limited education for all is affecting the world in two ways:

Schools standards are lowering

The level of education dropped

Many children do not have any education We have the chance to learn, explore and

do new things We have the opportunity to help these

children

They have educated 5% of the world’s non educated

Mercy Corps builds all girl schools in places where women can not get an education.

We chose to research FAD (Foundation for Adolescent Development)

The only educational organization in Manila

They also educate young people about alcohol and drugs.

Our Name is Helping Education La Philippines (HELP)

We are... Raising awareness Raising money to donate

Told many people about the issue

Made a Presentation to Increase Awareness

Individually talked to people about the issue

Raised over 1000 RMB

To provide opportunities for people to help To increase education of Children in Manila

Help children gain access to school Change the lives

Raise awareness of the need for education

Ask friends and family to give money
