Discussion questions• What is your interest in teaching online?• At which stage might you be interested in
teaching or getting started?
Blended/hybrid learning• Combination of learning that is part online
and part in a brick-and-mortar location – there are a number of possible combinations.• Blended learning is the three stages from
the middle to the right of the continuum.• The teacher has to plan for two learning
environments and how those learning environments are connected.

Moving forward…• OTAN’s Teacher Survey
http://www.otan.us/teachersurvey• Identify what you need first; often it is hard to
“know what you don’t know!” • The survey will help guide you to acquire and
continually assess additional skills. • Some food for thought when you answer: –Do you have to be an “expert?” –Do you have local resources to help?
Tools to helpTechnology skills (start to understand what you
do NOT know and give credit for what you DO know).
• Develop a plan to keep learning. OK to start slow!
• Attend sessions like this one – f2f and online• Check PD possibilities through local COE’s,
CC’s, and universities (and Extension programs)
• Learn about Moodle (via OTAN), a course management system, to expand your skills.
• Experiment! (for example, Gnomio)
