North West NHS workforce-focussed portal developed to support delivery of QIPP and other challenges

Developed and co-produced by NHS North West with NW HRDs, workforce planners and finance colleagues

A resource to underpin the wider quality drive and provides a platform to share knowledge and generate innovation / ideas about new ways of working

A subscription based portal owned by the members for members All NW NHS organisations signing up to AQuA

(Advancing Quality Alliance) are automatically members of eWIN

Non-AQUA members pay £2k a year to join eWIN

Members agree to submit two good practice case studies each year

Work taking place to widen access to; local authorities, HEIs, social care organisations etc

Working smart on workforce

NHS North West’s eWIN portal is helping 80 per cent of local health service organisations to access important workforce and benchmarking data. Even small improvements in productivity can have significant impact and NHS North West’s Workforce Information and Networking portal eWIN was designed to help organisations plan workforce configurations and improve efficiency, productivity and use of resources…………………………….

What do Super Users do?

• Register members on behalf of their Trust

• Help champion eWIN within their Trust

• Encourage people to submit knowledge exchange documents and case studies

• Act as key points of contact

• Communicate with eWIN to improve the functionality

of the site for all members

Role of

Super Users

Super Users have the ability to:

• Accept/Decline New Users

• Control the level of access individual users have to; benchmarking, knowledge exchange and the forums

• Communicate with one another on the eWIN forum

to share ideas/seek advice

Administration Area

• You will receive an email once someone registers for an account

• To approve/reject their request, sign into eWIN, click on your own name and go into pending registrations

• From here you can grant different levels of access

• Clicking approve will automatically send them an email with their username and password.

• Clicking Reject will send them an email advising them that their registration request has been denied. It will also provide your email address

Why doesn’t everyone get full access?• eWIN contains sensitive information, particularly within

benchmarking. Therefore access should be restricted where appropriate.

How do you determine individual levels of access?

• Look at the person’s email address.

• Use your judgment ,based upon why users have

stated that they need access

• Seek further advice from the eWIN team if you are unsure

The Existing users page lists all users within your organisation.

From here you can modify :-

•Levels of access•Email addresses •Job titles

Removing

Users

To remove a user from eWIN or to transfer them to another organisation please email ewin@northwest.nhs.uk with their:-

•Full Name •Username (email address)

It is important that you do this, to avoid your Trust havinglow usage in comparison to falsely high membership.
