How can young people find a job in the European labour market, adapted to their skills?

Several countries/regions have a very high number of unemployed young people, including graduates

EURES arrange Job Fairs in all EU/EEA countries. We give information about living and working. Using brochures, talk to people at our stand, and give detailed lectures (45 min). Employers are invited to participate together with us or with a stand on their own.

Our nearest neighbour Sweden is one of the countries with high youth unemployment. EURES Norway was present on 52 Job Fairs in Sweden last year.

Many young Swedes get their first job ever in Norway.

How can regions find workers with the right skills for their local need?

Employers must cooperate with the regional NAV– Important that someone has the big picture

Use EURES– EURES has a very good network. We know which countries have

surplus and shortage of workers

Example: The south-west region of Norway needed several Marine/Petroleum Engineers in 2006. By 2008; 150 Portuguese Engineers had arrived, several with spouse and family.
