amazement he saw a amazement he saw a little boy with little boy with a big a big grin on his face and grin on his face and something crimpled something crimpled

in his hand.in his hand.

"Mister," "Mister," The little boy cried The little boy cried

"I want to buy one "I want to buy one of your puppies."of your puppies."

"Well," said the "Well," said the farmer, farmer,

"these puppies "these puppies come from fine come from fine

parents parents and cost a good and cost a good

deal."deal."

The boy dropped his The boy dropped his head for a moment, head for a moment, then looked back up then looked back up

at the farmer and at the farmer and said,said,

"I've got thirty-nine "I've got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough cents. Is that enough

to take a look?to take a look?

"Sure,“"Sure,“ said the farmer,said the farmer, and with that he and with that he

whistled and whistled and called out the dog, called out the dog,

"Dolly. Here, "Dolly. Here, Dolly."Dolly."
