The process of changing a solid to liquid is called melting.

The change in the state of matter takes place at a certain temperature.

The temperature at which a solid changes and becomes liquid is it melting point.

As an example, the melting point for ice is 0 C. This means that at 0 C, the ice melts and becomes water.

When heated, solid particles absorb energy and vibrate faster.

The particles move further apart from each other.

The process of melting takes place, that means solid melts to form liquids.
