The Jacobs/Yorysh Senior Endowment Fund is in memory of Shirley and David Jacobs, Josephine and Samuel Klein, Bertha and Abraham Berlin and Rose and Abraham Yorysh. This fund supports the programs of the Senior Adult Department and is a gift from Gary, Jerri-Ann, Adam, Sara, Beth and Dylan Jacobs.

The 11th season of Jewish Poets-Jewish Voices will feature student poets from San Diego Jewish Day Schools who have been asked to write poems inspired by the various
Parshot of the Hebrew Bible, in connection with the JCC Gotthelf Art Gallery exhibit of Parsha Posters.
Other student poets are welcome to attend as well and, if they are not in the featured section, to read their poems
during the half hour of open microphone which will follow.The art gallery will be open prior to 7:00 p.m. and following

Spanish American Literature (Advanced Level V) | Tuesdays, Oct 9-Dec 11 (no meeting Nov 13) • 12:30-2:30 p.m.Literary critiques are the goal of this class to go beyond the words and their literal meaning. Students will think critically and analytically, while at the same time learn how to formulate a series of questions about the text and seek out the appropriate answers. While the chief focus is Spanish literature, students will be equally interested in cultivating precision in speaking, reading and writing.
Advanced Intermediate Spanish (Intermediate Level III) | Tuesdays, Oct 9-Dec 11 (no meeting Nov 13) • 3:00-5:00 p.m.After having completed the two preliminary Intermediate courses, students should handle with confidence complicated tasks and sociocultural situations, such as elaborating, complimenting, and apologizing. In addition, they should be able to write routine social correspondence and join sentences in simple discourse of at least several paragraphs in length of familiar topics, and read longer texts, get the main ideas and facts, and notice relevant details.
