PleasereadandfollowtheinstructionsregardingSelectAirmattressandoverlaysystemsandretainthismanualforfuturereference.Followallwarningsandinstructionsmarkedonthecontrolunitandmattressaswellasthoselistedinthismanual. Note: DONOTplaceliquidsontopofthecontrolunit.

HandlingHandlethecontrolunitwithcare.Droppingitmaycauseinternaldamageandcancausethecontrolunittomalfunction.

Note: DO NOT use a control unit if it appears to be damaged. Consult anauthorizedROHO/SelectAirdistributor.

Dust or DirtKeep the SelectAir control unit away from excessive dust or dirt, which can causeprematurefailure.Thecontrolunit issuppliedwithareplaceableair filter thatshouldbereplacedevery90daysundernormalconditions.Theairfiltershouldbeinspectedandcleanedeverymonthundernormalconditions,andmorefrequentlywhenusedinabnormallydustyordirtyenvironments.

CleaningUnplug the control unit from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use harsh liquidchemicals, cleaning solvents or aerosol cleaners. Water and a mild dish washingdetergentmaybeusedonasoft,dampclothorpapertowel.PleaserefertoSection8.

AccessoriesDonotplacethecontrolunitonanunstablesurfacebecauseitmayfall,causingseveredamage to the control unit. Use only manufacturer-recommended accessories.Anymountingof thecontrolunitmust followthemanufacturer’s instructions.Thehospitalbedfootboardmustbeabletosupportthecontrolunitandanyadditionalweight.

Control Unit-All Models

�. Place the control unit handle over theedge of the footboard. The handle willselfadjust to thewidthof the footboard(fig.3).

�. Insert the hose fitting with the clip intotheairoutletofthecontrolunitandturn�/4turn.Ensurethehosefittingisfirmlyseated and that the latch ‘clicks’ intoplace(fig.4).

4. Ensurethepowerentryswitchis“OFF”.

7. Checktoensurethatthepatienthasimmersedintothemattressabout40–50%.Iftheyhavenot,adjusttheComfortLevelusingtheComfortLevel“Softer”and“Firmer”buttonsandrepeatsteps6and7untiltheproperresultsareachieved.

Once the desired setting is found, check to see if there is adequate clearancebetweenthepatientandthebedframebyplacingyourhandbetweenthepatientandthebedframe.Thereshouldbe3-4inches(7-10cm)ofclearance,andthepatientshouldnotbetouchingthebedframeatanypoint.AdjusttheComfortLevelsettinguntiltheproperresultsareachieved.

Control UnitsAll control units are designed to be virtually maintenance free. The only servicingrequirediscleaningofthehousingandchangingthefilter.

Note: Thecontrolunitcontainsnootheruserserviceablepartsanditshouldonlybeopenedbyqualifiedservicepersonnel.

Fuse DANGER: THEFUSEMUSTONLYBEREPLACEDWITHTHE PROPERFUSEASLISTEDONTHEINFORMATION LABEL.DONOTREPLACETHEFUSEWITHONE OFHIGHERVALUEOROFDIFFERENTTYPE.

Toreplacethefuse:

�.Turnoffthemainpowerswitchonthepowerentrymodule,locatedontheleftsideoftheunit.

�.Unplugthelinecordfromthewallsocket,removetheotherendfromthepowerentrymodule,andsetaside.

3.Insertasmallflatscrewdriverintotheslotlocatedatthetopofthepowerentrymoduleandcarefullyopenthefuseholderdoor.

Filter

Thefiltershouldbeinspectedandcleanedeverymonthundernormalconditions.Inspectfilterandcleanorreplaceasnecessary.Bariatricpatientsgenerallyrequirehigherairpressureforsupport,therefore,theairfiltershouldbeinspectedandreplacedmorefrequently.

Tocheckandchangethefilter:

�. Firmlypull forwardandthendownonthefiltertray located at the front of the control unit.Thefiltertraywillautomaticallystopinthefullyopenedposition(fig.11).It isnotnecessarytocompletelyremovethefiltertray.

Important: Keepthefiltercleanandtheairopeningclearofobstacles.

2. Remove the filter from the filter tray (Fig. 12)by grabbing the filter by its edges andinspecttheconditionofthefilter.

Ifdirty,washthefilterinamilddetergent.Let the filter dry completely beforereplacingthefilterbackintothefiltertray.If the filter is torn or in bad condition,replaceitwithanewone.

Note: Donotusethecontrolunitwithoutafilter.

3. Replacethefilterbyfirmlypressingthefilterinaroundtheedgesinthefiltertray.

4. Ensurethefilterislayingflatandpushthefiltertrayupintothehousing.

Note: Donotcleanwithaphenolic-basedcleaningsolutionasitwilldamagethe urethane coating on the cover’s nylon fabric. These instructionsmustbefollowedtomaintainthequalityandintegrityofthematerial.

�. Deflateandremovethemattressfromthemattresscover.�. Place the mattress cover in a standard agitator-type washing machine. Take

care not to overload the washing machine. You may presoak the cover in aquaternary solution (disinfectant) diluted with water. We recommend usingSentinal,ElimstaphorHi-Torsolutionsdiluted�:�56.

Note:Washinwarmwater[notwarmerthan140°F(60°C)].Donotuse bleach.

Limited Warranty

TheROHOGroup,Inc.warrantstheSelectAirmattresssystems'controlunitsforaperiodoftwelve(12)monthsfromdateofpurchase.Themattress,coverandallothermattresssystemcomponentswillbewarrantedforaperiodoftwelve(12)months.

TheROHOGroup,Inc.warrantstheHybridSelectLowAirLossMattressOverlaySystemandControlUnitforaperiodoftwelve(12)monthsfromdateofpurchase.TheHybridSelectmattressoverlay,coverandallotheroverlaysystemcomponentswillbewarrantedforaperiodoftwelve(12)months.EXCEPTION:TheROHOHIGHPROFILEcushion(HealFloatfeature).Refertothecushion’soperationsmanualforitsspecificlimitedwarranty.

TheROHOGroup, Inc.will repair or replace (at itsoption)anycomponents that, uponexaminationbyaROHO/SelectAirrepresentativeoragent,arefoundtobedefectivewithinthelimitsofthewarranty.

Toobtainserviceunderthetermsofthiswarranty,theusermustnotifyTheROHOGroup,Inc.,itsrepresentativesoragentofthedefectnotedwithinthetimelimitofthiswarranty.TheROHOGroup,Inc.willarrangefortheinspectionand/orreturnofthesystemorcomponent.Nosystemorcomponentwillbeacceptedforthereturnwithoutexpresspriorauthorization.AnyrepairmadetotheequipmentorcomponentsbyanyoneotherthananROHO/SelectAirRepresentative,VOIDSthiswarrantyinitsentirety.Systemsorcomponentstobereturnedmustbecleaned(disinfected)priortoreturn,andmustbesecurelypackaged.

This warranty does not apply to any products that have been subjected to damage inaccident,misuseorabuse.

The patient assumes all risk and liability in connection with determining the suitabilityof the system and its components for a particular use.The ROHOGroup, Inc. and itsrepresentativesandagentsshallnotbeliableforinjury,lossordamagearisingoutoftheimproperuseoroperationofthesystem.Therearenowarranties,impliedbeyondthosestated for any consequential damages or loss resulting from failure of this product toperforminthemanneranticipated.
