OUR GIFTS TO GOD - That we encourage those who are struggling to find direction in their life and help them discern how they might use their skills. Budgeted Weekly Need / Presupuesto Semanal…… $ 24,150.00 Offertory Collection / Diezmos 05/07/2017…………...$ 23,170.33 Overage/Sobrante (Deficit /Faltante) ….…………….$ -979.67
Everyone is given unique gifts. Many people are able to recognize their talents and abilities, but there are many people who are unsure of their gifts. This may make them feel worthless. If you know someone who is struggling for a direction in life, give them a little encouragement. Help them discern how they might use their skills. No gift is too small or insignificant.
SAY YES!! Please put $5 more per week in the collection or if you just can’t, at least $2 more. HELP YOUR PARISH! Thank you very much for your generosity.
Our Church Office and Facilities
will be closed on Monday, May 29th
in observance of Memorial Day.
LETTER FROM OUR PASTOR Dear Parishioners,
We get a glimpse of life in 1st “parish" - in Jerusalem,
soon after the Resurrection - in today's 1st Reading.
Three characteristics stand out, which can help us reflect
on our own Christian identity even today. First, the
community of believers is steadily growing. The Church is
a living body of believers in Christ, and living things are
meant to grow. If a community of Christians isn't growing,
something is wrong; ours is a missionary religion. Christ
sent his Apostles to preach his Word to all people; the
Church is meant to spread into every corner of time and
space. Second, there is a clear structure of authority in
the Church community. The Twelve Apostles are its
leaders, as Jesus intended, and they solve the new
problem that arises by ordaining the first Deacons. Today
as well, every Catholic community is organized with the
same hierarchical structure. First there is the pope, the
successor St Peter, leader of the Twelve Apostles. Then
there is the local bishop, successor of those Apostles.
Then there is the pastor of the parish, the bishop's
representative for a specific area. None of them govern
by their own authority. Rather, they receive their
authority from Christ, through the sacrament of orders.
By obeying them, in matters of faith and morals,
Christians are obeying Christ himself. Finally, even at the
very beginning of the Church, we see that there are
disagreements among believers. The Greek-speaking
believers complain about being treated as second-class
Christians. This is the point I would like to focus on today.
Our faith in Christ doesn't make us perfect right away,
just as it didn't make the first Christians perfect right
away. Spiritual growth is a life-long process. The first
Christians had to work through conflicts and selfish
tendencies; so, do we all.
My God bless you.
Fr. Dan
P.S. Thanks to all those who made pledges for” Hand in
Hand”! May God bless you for your great generosity.
Those who still have not, we are waiting for you in order
to make our goal. Also, have you considered leaving St.
Jerome Parish in your will? I have! That is also a good
way to save in taxes for appreciated items after death.
"Mano a Mano"! Que Dios los bendiga por su gran
generosidad.
¡Muchas Gracias!
ESCUELA CATOLICA SAN JERONIMO EDUCANDO MENTE, CORAZON Y ESPIRITU
TO MOM You’ve meant a million things to me in all this mixed-up world, You’ve stirred emotions in my heart you’ve been my only girl. When I was sick you cared for me, when I was sad you cried,
Although some things were hard to get you did your best and tried. There have been days of sadness and days of joy and glee,
In this whole world, I can’t express the things you’ve meant to me. Sometimes I have forgotten you and all your deeds so true,
But in my heart, there’ll always be a place, Dear Mom, for you. I could never repay you for all the things you’ve done,
For all the happiness you’ve brought, the things for me, you’ve won. I could never forget you, forget that heart so true,
And always my ambition is to be, Mom, more like you. Although your trials are many and mine are very few,
There are three words, Mom, please don’t forget and those are I Love You.

Grief Support Workshop
Grieving with Great HOPE is a five week grief support workshop in a DVD and small group discussion format that will be led by Rejoice Counseling Apostolate. It offers a prayerful, practical and personal approach for adults who have experienced the death of a
spouse, child, parent, sibling, grandchild, friend or other loved one. There are no stages to grief. We all experience loss in our unique way. It is through prayerful reflection, practical learning and personal fellowship that we mourn. In mourning, we begin to build our bridge to a new and different life.
$20 covers the entire program and all materials. It will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church and is open to parishioners of St. Jerome Catholic Church.
1:00 – 3:00 PM. May 31, June 7, June 14, June 21, June 28 To register or for more information contact
