Overview of the device

Design/Construction Issues

Had to cut and assemble device in the Arts and Architecture building.

Issues with spray paint. Making sure the “car” cuts the string

that sets off the device. Having the see-saw balanced

Energy Conversions

GpE (car) KE (car) PE (spring) KE (spring) GpE (rock) KE (rock) mgh + 1/2mv^2 + 1/2kx^2 + Win = mgh + 1/2mv2 + 1/2kx^s + Eloss

Conclusions

The team spent several hours cutting and constructing the device at the Arts and Architecture building.

We believe that the project was a success and everyone had lots of fun.

Without Patrick Dobbs (greatest EF151 T.A. ever), we would not be able to design such “Grade A Material”.
