Design Statement
Tim Martin
When I think of a design, I start to look at what others are thinking. When a thought from a client is submitted and processed, then my design aim to illustrate that thought. The design concept is all about the thought process of getting an idea out through ideation, or idea generation.
I like to know that people are thinking about my designs. If someone will take time out of their busy schedule to concentrate on a design that I have created, then the design is successful. A designer should be open to all suggestions, however if it affects their personal beliefs, then try to stay clear of something that may cause him to compromise. For instance, if someone wants me to design something glamorous consisting of alcohol or drugs, I would have a hard time completing that task if the goal is to mislead the public. The client’s needs are important, and the designer has a unique way of looking at things. The client and designer have got to agree to an extent or neither one will be impacted by the design solution.
Design is a graphic way to communicate with the public in today’s society. An image describes a certain position in life that is captured in one state. Type is used to inform the viewer, and communicate style and meaning of a specific design strategy. I enjoy doing a design that serves everyone with a clear purpose. Design is important in every aspect of life, including every product, good, service or organization.
